Country Casa Montessori Daycare and Academy
As a teacher and a previous employee at a few daycares in York region, I know I am picky about where my children go to school. This daycare has exceeded my expectations and I have recommended it to everyone I know. It is a large, extremely clean facility With so many interesting, exciting and educational things to do. It has a large vegetable garden, with a pumpkin patch, many different and spacious outdoor play spaces, so teachers can take their lessons outdoors. It also has a large indoor gym, again clean and spacious, classrooms with helpful and caring staff members. The owners are extremely friendly and are always working on new ideas to better the daycare, which is already the best I've seen in all of York region. Our eldest son has exceeded in his social, language and math skills because of the excellent learning environment provided and I can't wait for our new son to start this summer. I highly recommend this daycare to anyone with children in the York region area. It is a daycare centre that is worth the drive for us!

My daughter attended country casa and I was always very happy with the care she received. She loved her teachers and the take home books that told me about her day and had pictures and all of her arts and crafts were always a great way to see what she does every day and also are such a great keepsake! Her teacher was always kind and very knowledgeable and provided wonderful learning opportunities for her ! Thank you country casa for taking such great care of my daughter before kindergarten she is now starting big kid school with a head start thanks to her amazing teachers!

We did not have the best experience with Country Casa. Our daughter went for approximately 3 months. She would cry from morning until night when we would pick her up. Numerous times I would pick her up when they were outside and she would be by herself at the far corner crying her heart out no one tending to her. The teachers told us in the first couple weeks that she has separation anxiety and suggested to enroll her in some extra curricular activities which we did and we spoke to our DR who suggested if we could to try her at another daycare which we decided to give her more time to adjust at Casa at that time. Olivia did not eat her meals ever there she would come home starving, she did not eat because she was too upset. She came home from school one day and she seemed to be dehydrated. When I asked the teacher the next day if she was drinking any water as I realize she doesn't eat because she gets upset, the teacher asked me what do you mean? I told her what happened the day before and the teacher began to tell me that she offers my daughter water but she doesn't drink it. I was a little upset that no one advised us that my daughter wasn't drinking water all day. I don't think I should have to ask.Country Casa does not have an app to provide you with updates , they write the updates in a book. We found that the updates weren't accurate and we had to ask the teacher if she ate or not, if we wanted to find out. Sometimes they didn't write in the book and rarely provided pictures. Please note our daughter does need a bit of extra attention for sure and likes to be picked up a lot! I think the teachers did try.On the website and when we went for the tour they advertise Organically grown food when they actually feed them hotdogs , Pizza, Bear Paws.. ext.. The kids get a lot of food on a daily basis that are processed foods. They do feed them fruits and veggies wraps, pasta , perogies things like that as well. They were great at diaper changes , our daughter has sensitive skin/eczema, we had no issues at all with redness in that area.We enrolled her at a new school and the first day she ate everything, when she cries the teachers cuddle her and she doesn't cry as much. She is a much happier child going to her new school. By day 3 she was reaching for her new teacher when dropping her off, where at Casa as soon as I stopped the car in the parking Lot she started screaming and would still be screaming as I got back into my car. Also, when I went to pick her up one day at Casa I heard a teacher screaming very loud (not raising her voice) at the children inside the classroom thank goodness my daughter was being brought out at that time. I did advised the supervisor as I was especially concerned as they advised my daughter had separation anxiety and I would be devastated to find out if a teacher were yelling at my daughter like that. They assured me they spoke to the all staff that were working that day.The school and property are very beautiful. I think this school could have potential under the right management. However we had a very bad experience and we are very happy we made the switch to the new school.

My daughter attended the centre for almost 3 years. Unfortunately the last year the centre was left in new management. My daughter has special needs, nonverbal and I was told they would go above and beyond for her. Once it switch to new management I noticed a lot of things starting to occur. My daughter was coming home covered in bruises , crying all day , I would pick her up and she was starving. When I looked at the “daily sheet” when I did actually get one, it said items like nutrigrain bars and other processed junk food. My daughter is on a strict diet and the centre advertises “organic healthy food” when it’s all frozen and processed junk. Weekly you see the “Gordon’s frozen food” truck delivering. My daughter is very allergic to certain wipes and diapers and can only use pampers, The centre is well aware of that. For a week they were sending my daughter home with a 2inch open bloody wound on the side of her privates and a horrible rash around it. She wouldn’t even let me go anywhere near her to change her as she was in unbearable pain, she could hardly walk. I had to take her to a doctor and found out it actually turned into a bad bacterial infection because they were not cleaning and changing her enough. I kept asking the girls and they would just say “oh no, we don’t know , looks painful “. I ended up going to the management (who failed all ece requirements and not even approved by ministry to be a manager ) I showed her the pictures and expressed how heartbreaking this is and total neglect and she said she would talk to the girls and follow up with me. I asked her to take it serious and I know it’s hard because she’s friends with all the girls and she made it clear she hates all the workers. I never received a follow up , I messaged her multiple times. The following week she calls me and says they need to have a safety meeting about my daughter. I came to the centre was greeted by “management “ brookes teacher and the owner. The owner went off aggressively telling me she’s too much for the centre and they can not keep her any longer. I asked them to provide situations and they couldn’t. I brought up that my daughter has extra funding for more staff in the room which he claimed he used but I know they are always short staffed. He claimed he paid out of pocket for extra staff after the hours were used which is another false statement as the girls constantly tell me they are short. Owner claims my daughter is too much of a liability and don’t want to deal with her anymore and needs to go. (My daughter has never harmed anyone there in the three years she attended) when other parents asked what happened as they heard about my daughter being kicked out simply because she is special needs (total discrimination) they simple say “ oh the parent was being problematic”. The management and owner do not do well with simple conversations as they get very defensive and argue with you and blame your child for what ever happened. The owner gets very loud and will try to belittle the parents and staff. Most staff is not even ECE certified and seems the requirements for the centre are just “young and pretty “ very disappointed how the centre changed over the year. In the beginning it was amazing and the staff and management was absolutely wonderful.

The perfect daycare for my child ! The teachers spend a lot of time making sure each child’s needs are not only met but taken seriously. I love the healthy meal and snack options that they have, my child has a peanut allergy and it has never been an issue here. I have had an amazing experience and trust my child is under great supervision here. Thank you Country Casa

My daughter spent 7 months at this daycare and I can’t even begin to say how incredible this kid sanctuary is. They are so much more than a daycare; it’s an excellent child care facility with teachers who really care, it’s a petting zoo, it’s a mini farm and they are even adding a splash pad for the kids next summer. Best daycare I have ever seen. I can’t say enough about it.Amanda, Alanna & Lanesha are excellent teachers and has gone above and beyond for my daughter. Highly recommend them.

We went for a tour and they do not offer ANY montessori learning. The teachers are very young and under qualified. When the tour guide asked the teacher" to give examples of the daily learning activites she laughed nervously and asked the tour guide "what do I say?". All the people running the school seemed overwhelmed

i don't usually write any reviews but this daycare is just awesome. It is the best daycare we have been among all of our kids.+ They are so professional, adhering to all the ministry rules and super clean.+ they have a small animal farm during the summer which is so cool.+ the classes are very equipped.+ they cook everything from scratch using only organic food some is grown in the farm.+ the provide detailed daily feedback reports. even when i keep the feedback book at home they still fill all missed days.+ the ensured to move my daughter to from toddler to pre-school exactly when she was 2.5 years. other montessori schools did not until year is done.+ they take kids out to play daily.+ staff is super friendly and always greeting us in the morning and at pick up time.+ very helpful in training and teaching kids.just love the daycare. the best.
