Tapagria Spanish Tapas Restaurant
One of the worst service in Canada. We tried to order and we signed the waiter and he waive back to us to wait until is finishing to clean couple of tables. We spend 570 dollars for a very bad service. The food it wasn't that bad but not even close to the best. Every time we ordered something the waiter let us wait and wait and wait. The only professional and nice person was one of the hostess guy. Not sure if I'm gonna go back. To bad he was looking promising.

Decent food, service needs improvement.Appetizers were good, I had high expectations for the paella which was good but not mind blowing. I went with someone who spoke decent English but the server kept mumbling really fast and ignored her multiple times when she needed him to slow down and repeat himself.

This review is long overdue. This place is a hidden gem in the Markham area. The food here is impeccable and the service is top notch as well. I believe the owner is there a lot of the time as well, making sure that everyone is taken care of.Must haves: paella, squid ink tapas, salmon tartar tapas, bone marrow, and their Spanish draft beer !!!Have been here a couple times now, the classics paella is about $60 and can feed a group of 4.Overall a must try !!

Excellent place for a group to come and enjoy. We ordered the set menu plus extra tapas and every single one was a pleasant bite. Presentation was pleasing to the eye. And the servers were friendly, knowledgeable and offered great service. Highly recommend.

Amazing dinner with the family. Ordered the set meal for four. Perfect amount of food for everyone. With a little extra to take home for lunch tomorrow!Service was top notch. Coming back soon.Things to improve ... Octopus was a touch salty. The sangria needed fruit at the bottom of the glass.

First time here and we had an amazing evening. Phenomenal service, Christian was polite and gave us some good recommendations. Love the tapagria paella, the dates with cheese amazing, grill octopus and shrimps so good. The Spanish beer was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place.

First time being there on Sunday for lunch, surprisingly it wasn’t busy. More than half of restaurant was empty during lunch time. The server was also in his good mood, slightly long face was pulled when bringing us to the table. Menu shown Paella De Tapagria needed 45mins, so we asked to send that order to the kitchen first. Then we ordered few more appetizers, they were unique but nothing super crazy about. Maybe I had little too much expectation. The vibe was okay, like the Paella De Tapagria, it was average and not over seasoned. Compared to last year, all items had gone up few dollars after inflation adjustment. After all, the experience was ok and slightly overpriced.

My partner and I hosted a private reception lunch for our 45 guests in their private rooms and it was amazing! Everyone complimented the food and the service so much! So grateful to Yasmine for helping us with the planning and making sure everything ran smoothly. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return. Thanks so much for the best experience and tastiest food ever!!!!!!!

Located in a plaza with free parking. Restaurant is spacious and clean. Open kitchen concept and has an outdoor patio as well. Our party ordered a bit of everything and everything tasted delicious. Highlights for the night were: sardines and the anchovies tapas, Brussels sprouts, bacon wrapped dates, octopus, and the shrimp.Service was great and management came a few times to make sure everything was going well. They even gave us a complimentary dessert to try.Definitely a gem in Richmond hill and I will definitely be back.

While waiting the 45 minutes for a paella, it’s important to get a few small bites to tide the stomach over. The truffle paste and Manchego pintxos ($12) was a strongly flavoured bite with the truffle dominating against the delicate toast and the buttery cheese binding things together. It’s tasty but given its powerful flavour is best eaten last amongst the sandwiches.Surprisingly, for something that’s cooked in fat the duck confit pintxos ($14) were a little dry. Tapagria puts a dollop of mango chutney on top - a nice pairing with the fowl – but there wasn’t much of the condiment, so it didn’t really hydrate or flavour much. Perhaps a drizzle along with a condensed red wine reduction would help to give this pintxo some pizazz.I enjoyed the nice creamy texture of the jamon croquettas ($12) but found the varying pieces of ham mixed in them confusing – one bite included diced pieces, so it was almost like having a croquette with sweeter chorizo, while another had pulled pieces. Truthfully, I was expecting slivers of thinly sliced jamon to be ribboned amongst the silky potatoes. Nonetheless, the dish’s flavours were on point.Still, the paella de Tapagria ($56) was the star of the show. It’s a creation that can’t be rushed as you want to let it sit until there’s a bit of a crust on the bottom. While it wasn’t covered with a lot of ingredients, there was enough shrimp, squid, clams, chorizo, and chicken to go with the shallow flavourful rice. Some reviews claim it’s too salty, but I found it be seasoned nicely and like the hint of chili that makes an appearance. The caramel flan ($12) was very thick, possibly from the Spanish recipe incorporating condensed milk compared to the whole milk that’s used in French crème caramel. It feels like you’re eating a cheesecake (without the cheese flavours) that’s covered in a thinned caramel sauce. While not necessarily terrible, I do prefer the delicate crème caramel consistency and will stick with the churros or Spanish toast next time.
