About the Business
Miijidaa Café + Bistro | Home | There are many influences in what has come to define Canadian cuisine. Starting with the First Nations, followed by the influences of the French, English, there are many ideas and traditions that have motivated us to create something special. In a way, we’ve gone ‘back to the future’ – our menu is a very modern take on, and mélange of, our northern gastronomic history. We’ve even given a nod to the Vikings and the Portuguese who visited our shores before the early explorers. And, to be clear, we consider no cuisine superior to the other… each is equally inspirational. For us, renowned Indigenous Canadian artist Norval Morrisseau best articulates the spirit of Miijidaa: “My art speaks and will continue to speak transcending barriers of nationality, of language and of other forces that may be divisive.”

What a wonderful dining experience! Another hidden jewel in Guelph. The service was superb, as is the food and atmophere.The Elk Tortierre was nicely seasoned and delicious.Everyone raved about their choices.Nice variety of pizza choices, gluten free and vegan choices.We can't wait to return.Street Parking was a but tricky so.plan to arrive earlier.

The food was great and there were a lot of good vegan options. There are also excellent non vegan menu options. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful. Great drinks too!

Miijidaa Café + Bistro
The restaurant was busy, so we opted to sit at the bar. The service was friendly and efficient. The staff seemed to work well together and enjoy working there. The pea bacon sandwich and the venison burger were delicious. The French fries and the baked potato soup were very good. We would come here again if we were in town.

If you go here order the beef cheeks or smoked duck!!You won’t need a knife with your beef because it literally falls off your fork and melts in your mouth. Just trust me.The duck is amazing! The barley as a side was so good I saved it and had it for lunch the next day.The service was fast, they’re always so nice and have good recommendations.One of Guelphs hidden gems!

Went in tonight to check this place out without any expectations. Was absolutely in love at first sight at the decor, the ambiance, the cafe atmosphere. Felt at home and enjoyed a very delicious and well balanced meal. I will be returning to try everything else on the menu.Update: Miijidaa has become one of my favorite places to go for many occasions. Delicious and well designed menus for special occasions like Valentine's and New year's. But also a great place for a quick bite and some great coffee, or a wonderful LGBTQIA+ friendly bar to hang out at. Absolutely love this restaurant, bar and cafe.

I think this place is wonderful. The food is really good and the atmosphere is really nice. Our waitress tonight was so friendly and happy which was nice to see as my first restaurant experience in almost a year. The jalapeño cheddar cornbread was to die for and so moist, My only real complaints are that the chairs they have on the patio aren’t great for anyone with wider bodies or legs so it’s incredibly painful and uncomfortable to sit in them. That and I wish that my potato pizza had had more of the roasted apple on it, though that’s more of a personal preference than anything.

Wow we were pleasantly surprised with the dishes; really EVERYTHING was delicious. Merciiiiiii to the chef, the dishes offered are of excellent quality, and special mention to Garett for having advised us on the choice of dishes, served with a smile and he even tried a few words in French. Garett if we could put more stars…….. Great restaurant, go there you will not regret!

We had a lovely meal. I had the pesto pizza which was amazing! My oldest (16) loved the roast chicken sandwich and youngest (12) enjoyed the cheese pizza. My husband loved the beef cheeks. Great pre dinner cocktails. The kids enjoyed the raspberry sorbet for dessert. The peanut butter chocolate pie was rich but not too heavy and my husband enjoyed his blueberry pie jar. Service was excellent. Great vibe.

We went here for dinner and had a great time. There is such a cute, warm vibe in the dining room, and we loved the bookstore beside it. There are a lot of unique and tasty options for food. We ordered some cocktails, the elk scotch egg, the tortiere, sea bass and peanut butter pie for dessert. The peanut butter pie was delicious if you’re obsessed with peanut butter like I am.

I have been to Miijidaa many times and the food has been fantastic deserving of a 5 star rating. My last visit was horrible, our waiters name was Spencer. He was aggressive, slammed plates on our table and was rude. We ordered the Seared Halloumi as a starter and we were brought the Goat Cheese Dip. Thankfully our hostess was wonderful and eventually corrected this mishap by bringing this monstrosity. The pictures attached are of the Seared Halloumi that was brought to our table. An enormous thick slice of Halloumi. We also ordered the Potato pizza along with our starter and it arrived cold. A staggering down turn in food quality and hospitality.
