I got approved for a personal account and a week later I found my account locked and I got an email that my application was declined. I regret opening an account with Manulife in the first place as not only I am locked out but now I have to waste my time to deal with getting the money I deposited back. I am glad Manulife showed me how unprofessional of a bank they are before I got further involved with them .

Im so happy im not with Manulife anymore , this compagny is dishonnest and use lies to run their business . Carefull when calling them about anything , they will not tell you about the fees , rob your money and say its your fault , i had a supervisor listen to 3 different calls so he can understand that i was not warned about any fees , the supervisor said i should have asked , im so happy it was a minimal amount , i genuinly dont recoment this company to anyone who does not want to get robbed.

brutal, just brutal. Good luck understanding an agent, most barely speak english. We have no issues with two other health insurance providers, but with Manulife, they have on three occasions made mistakes (which I have to advise them of their error), causing overpayments creating headaches and extra work for me in extra paperwork and phone calls

I have been a customer with Manulife now for a couple of years, and am frustrated with their customer service. Here are three examples where they fail: (1) You cannot deposit cheques that are not in CAD; e.g., US Dollar cheques cannot be deposited; for this reason, I keep my account at TD, (2) fraud detection for credit cards is seriously behind that of other banks; I am travelling to the US frequently, and have been stranded at airports, where my card was being rejected paying for a pack of chewing gum etc. (3) wire transfers seem to be impossible. I receive funds frequently from oversees (e.g., the UK); I spent quite some while on the phone with a person at Manulife explaining to them the concept of a wire transfer. After a long time, they told me that Manulife wires come into RBC, and are then transferred to Manulife. I told my overseas contact this, and now, half a year later, am told that this also fails.So with all of the above, I am now at the point where I feel that I need to change my bank.

The worst customer service experience I have ever had when speaking to Manulife Group Retirement customer service. Stay away from trusting your money with Manulife! When attempting to transfer funds out of Manulife DPSP, I spoke to 5 different agents and each gave different incorrect information. Some of these employees sound like they are unhappy with their job and don't want to speak with you. I had 3 different agents abruptly end the call hanging up on me. Be prepared to waste atleast an hour of you day trying to get ahold of someone who knows what they are talking about. My recommendation is to stay away from Manulife all together. There are many other financial institutions out there with better customer service.

The new system sucks. Can't even link accounts and make benefits claims. Trouble resetting passwords was never an issue and now its so difficult. 2 hour wait on phone in the morning. Thanks

DO NOT deal with this Company. Their customer service is horrible. I'm not even sure they're in Canada, as the call quality is unbelievably bad and the people you speak with have abysmal English skills. Neither my Manulife financial advisor nor the Manulife customer service department can give me a straight answer as to what's going on with an RRSP transaction I made 3 weeks' ago. A cheque was supposed to be mailed to my bank; my bank still hasn't received it. This was a Waterloo, Ontario to Toronto, Ontario mailing so it shouldn't have taken more than 5 business days to reach my bank. Today, when I asked that the transaction be cancelled and the funds re-deposited into my RRSP, I was told it would cost a service fee" of $75.00. WHY???!!! This wasn't my fault/my mistake. I do not recommend Manulife whatsoever

Sort your insurance website and app out. It's down frequently, and reports login detail issues when it's actually a problem on your end.I'm sure the feds might want to get involved if they became aware of an insurance company willfully trying to prevent people from filing claims through technical incompetence.
