This is crazy huge! You would miss it if you didn’t just happen to drive down this dirt road. So glad we “happened “ on to this one if a kind find!!

No need to buy tickets, it's free! Very interesting, if you like trees etc. There's even more to look at on the back. A plaque explains everything. Lots of parking. No washroom.

Pretty cool if you ask me. Huge burl. Donated to Port McNeill in 2005 by WFP. Found on a 525 year old Sitka spruce tree. Approx 20+ tons.

This is my third time visiting the burl and I’m devastated to find it’s been the victim of arson. The burl is still magnificent despite its new scars.

We were disappointed for a number of reasons. 1. The Burl had recently been set on fire and there there were barricades around it. 2. The location was pretty sad and run down looking. I wish there had been flowers and information available.

World’s Largest Burl
The burl is unique as is something really special as a logging town. If you are into natural oddities this is an awesome sight to see. The burl doesn't have too much around it as it is located in the community hall parking lot, but it has a covering and small plaque talking about it. The museum when it is open again is a great place to see more about the logging history.
