It's been a while since I ordered from this place. Price gone up from $13 to $18.50 for the large oxtail meal, understandable... inflation.... What's new. My problem is I don't get to eat protein, small portion, no meat. It's a shame to pay close to $20 and walk anyway hungry for a lunch. Over salty.

I used to go to Mr. Jerk when was in high school but found Irie as it’s probably the only Jamaican place in Oakville. I eat a lot of jerk chicken but this place is the best. Perfectly seasoned and falls right off the bone as it should. Spice level is perfect and the portions are huge (even for a small). I also tried the oxtail which was just as good. The patties with cocoa bread is on point. My favourite place in Oakville. More of a takeout and delivery place. Also if there is no parking in the front, there are plenty of spaces in the back of the plaza.

Clearly, the previous patrons who wrote the other reviews were bamboozled because we are from the West Indies and grew up eating oxtail amongst other traditional Caribbean dishes however, the oxtail had no taste.. not good AT ALL. It was tasteless and dry. The curry was just okay, nothing more, nothing less. Jerk chicken was dry like the Sahara desert. The Patty was delicious! Not here to bash them but they need to do better. Needless to say, we won’t be going back!

Ordered 1 Chicken Roti, 2 Large Stew Chicken. These 2 Stew Chicken were not the same portions, and or batch. 1 looks old, (darker, less rice, less meat, was mostly bone, sauce, bone fragments and grissle). I have had this before from here. No carrot, no potatoes, which is usually served with Stew Chicken. Been here before, not rude, but not friendly, (for me). Will not return. Worth the drive to the city.

Drove past many times. Happy that I dropped in today. I split the Goat Roti with wife and child. We all found it tasted excellent, with potatoes not too hard or too soft. The goat was juicy and tender. Will be back for more sooner than later.

My first time here, and the jirk chicken sandwich really brought me back to the early 90s patty shops that always showed us love.Bless

Fist time ordering from this place via Uber . Food is sooo good. Perfect spice level , very tasty jerk chicken and rice. It has nice spice kick but not overpowering, just perfectly cooked. Will try other items on their menu. Large jerk chicken portion is generous.

Deceptive, in the very best way!!The place: ** (and that's being generous)Next to the highway, tucked away where no one can ever find it in a tiny plaza you'd never go out of your way to go. Pass by and your instinct would be to just keep driving. We got there and sat for a min figuring out if it's too late to find somewhere else. (so glad we didn't!). Best description would be hole-in-the-wall". Not somewhere you'd go for the ambiance. It's more of a take out and delivery kind of place for sure. There's also only 2 spots for parking in front so if they are full

HIDDEN GEM ALERT!!!Make sure you get there early because it gets sold quickly from what I learned.Got the jerk chicken, curry chicken, and pattys. Everything was so flavorful, I was surprised. I was honestly not expecting it to be as good as it was.Jerk chicken tasted authentic and very spicy. I’ve had a few jerk chickens in my life and this was by far the best I’ve had in 15 years, even better than stuff I’ve had in other countries. This is now my go to spot.I ordered it on ubereats by the way, so i don’t know what the restaurant actually looks like.

Please don't base your decision to go to this place on past reviews as they're all fake and misleading, I am of Caribbean descent and this is probably the worst Jamaican cuisine I have ever eaten in my entire life I wish I could give zero stars customer service is horrible and the food coming out of this restaurant is an embarrassment! rice and peas were just plain rice with two peas in the rice couldn't have been any more stingy and the jerk chicken is just bland baked chicken covered in grocery store Grace jerk seasoning what a disgrace to Jamaican cuisine! serving size is horrible for the prize and the area its located in is a dump part of Oakville I should have known what to expect once I arrived there, the people writing these positive reviews are delusional and must be the ones who season their meat with salt and pepper only, you've been warned save your money/time and go to McDonald's down the street at least you know what to expect.
