Standard First Aid with Brynn Jones was great. Lots of examples and experiences used and he kept us engaged all weekend. He’s definitely in the right profession as an instructor. One star lost for the location/space. One small room with a skylight but no windows, chairs are not very comfortable but totally doable for a weekend.

Registered for a course. Was called by the office to say I was registered on a holiday and my course needed to be rescheduled. I had a receipt for the correct date so it made no sense. A second agent said the same thing and tried to refuse my refund.

Books were outdated, never got any resources to take home and keep (like a first aid handbook), instructor was hard to understand with her accent, instructor missed teaching a few things about emergency first aid, class room was terrible. Had to lay on dirty carpet, tv for videos and reading was so small, most cpr dummies had no head and were ripped and broken. Could barely read the test and answer paper. It was like the copies ran out of ink! Instructor also seemed very young and not experienced. The hands on learning was a joke! Never even touched a triangle bandage or learn to put a sling on someone or immobilize a leg. Also never got shown proper c spine techniques and how to properly do it. Is that not important for emergency first aid? I would not recommend this place as a good learning facility.

Learned a lot of information in 2 days but the instructor made it easy to digest. Great course. Was happy they offered it on so many days unlike other places in town.

WHAT A JOKE!!!!After having my class canceled on me once and once the instructor never showed up, I was finally able to take Standard First Aid recert. I had to take 3 days off work for the class and I finally got my certificate. I needed the course to work as a Lifeguard and when I went to apply for a new job I was told that the St Mark James certificate that I was issued is not recognized by the Lifesaving Society or the City. I was also told by the person on the phone that it would be. There in no mention anywhere on thier website that they are a provider for St Mark James. The whole process with Kelowna First Aid has been really shady and their staff did not care at all about my situation and were quite rude. Should have gone elsewhere after the first time they canceled the class on me. Take your money elsewhere and go with a Red Cross or Lifesaving Society approved provider and save yourself the headache of not knowing if your class will run, instructor will show up or your award being recognized.LET EVERYONE THAT VISITS YOUR WEBISTE KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT APPROVED BY THE LIFEAVING SOCIETY BEFORE OTHERS LOOSE THEIR HARD EARNED $$$ AND TIME WITH YOUR COMPANY!!!!

Unfortunately I neglected to read the reviews for this organization prior to booking. The booking process was poor due to the fact that the company could not process our credit card online or on the phone, multiple cards later & all in good standing, the agent agreed to allow us to attend & pay cash onsite. We booked CPR- C/ AED recertification as we are health care providers. For the beginning of the course I was concerned we were attending the wrong course - as there were clearly people in the course that had not completed standard first aid before. I approached the instructor at break to confirm this was a recertification to which he reassured us. As the course continued we were paired up in groups of 4 to practice CPR. After speaking to the participants we worked with, they confirmed that had not taken this course before. I looked at the schedule online and noted that the CPR C/AED re certification, initial standard first aid course, and many others were all scheduled for the same date, time and room number. The instructor explained that since COVID the company runs hybrid courses". SFA was taught with a brief overview of CPR for an adult & infant. At lunch the instructor noted that people re certifying could write the test. We were instructed to write to question 15. I overheard someone else state that they required BLS and were instructed to write to question 35. I asked if we could do the same

My experience has been that this company is VERY unprofessional. My class has been changed or cancelled on 3 occasions and when I called to ask for a refund I was bounced around, told that a manager would be contacted to hear my concerns and my request for a refund, but I never ever had any follow up. I understand that staffing is difficult with covid but given the number of times this course has been changed or cancelled the professional thing to do would be apologize and offer a refund. Some staff members were adamant that a refund would not be issued and refused to put me in contact with the owner/manager while others seemed to think a refund should be no issue, but then I STILL never received any update! I’ve wasted so much time booking and rescheduling these classes, finding childcare, taking time off work, and rearranging my family’s schedule and STILL have not been able to actually attend and get certified. The manager should be the person to take client’s concerns by email or phone and deal with them directly, not making the staff repeat tirelessly the “policy”. In these circumstances, an exception is warranted. This was all handled so poorly by the company. I do not recommend wasting your time or money. Find your first aid certification elsewhere.Of note: these types of complaints here on Google reviews about classes repeatedly being cancelled and the poor handling of customer complaints dates back WAY before covid so this isn’t a new issue and not an reasonable excuse. I should have paid better attention to the reviews (there are MANY who experienced the same unprofessionalism).

I was a little hesitant to take the course because of some of the reviews, but I have only good things to say about their standard first aid course. The instructor was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The company was also very accommodating, I missed my initial course date and they were able to reschedule me over the phone to another date
