Mountainaire Campground and RV Park
We went here for a few days during the pandemic time. It is a paradise, very queit and nice. We spent one day separately, went to Gabriola Island and Hornby Island, and stayed in the camp for two days. Such a schedule is simply perfect——go out for a day and rest in the camp for a day.The staffs are very friendly and patient. My family will camp there again.

worst campsite ever. guy at check-in was rude and condescending. absolutely no private sites at all despite what the website says. we were almost turned away for “potential noise” but were the quietest site in our area two nights in a row.they also refused to give the deposit back for the power adapter rental, when we were promised cash to bring it back.the one star is for the surprisingly decent washrooms. this place is not worth it. DON’T CAMP HERE ‼️idk how to reply to their reply so i’m editing: we came fully aware of the policies. read all the rules prior to arriving. didn’t need that man belittling me at check-in. you also sent the money to the wrong email. try harder.

Mountainaire Campground and RV Park
This is our 2nd year of camping here and it is always wonderful. Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, family friendly and great amenities. Bonus is the short hike down to the gorgeous Nanaimo river. We’re going to make it our annual tradition to come 1 week every summer for a camping trip here.

Mountainaire Campground and RV Park
My partner and I went winter camping in this wonderful campground. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Firewood is conveniently available by the office. Facilities are awesome and the bathroom is probably the best (and the warmest) we've ever had in a campground around BC. There's a beautiful trail leading to Nanaimo river, just in the campground's backyard. A bunch of RVs live long-term in the campground and they're cool folks! The sense of isolation, calmness and tranquility in this campground is all we needed for our little trip to the Island! Totally recommend it!

Older couple that run it are so nice. Candy store for kids. Pound with cute frogs. River access to amazing river. It is a bit of a walk and goes uphill on way back but it's beautiful. Campsite sizes are OK. Some a bit small but bigger than many other rv places. Bathrooms have hot showers avail. Movie night on weekends is great. Easy to use website to reserve. No reservation fees. Sign up and get promos. Playground and grassy area to play. Dirt roads easy to travel with bikes.

We stayed there for the long weekend. There was a small issue about the sewer system on the first night but they managed to get it fixed early the next morning. Kids loved the playground and big field for them to have fun too. Movie night was also a plus. We really had a good time.

Best campground ever! You will never find a more family friendly and caring hosts.. we have camped here since our youngest was a baby and miss it as soon as we leave! This Thanksgiving the hosts even brought each campsite a pumpkin pie and whipped cream as a gift. how special!The sites are large, nicely spaced and private surrounded by trees. The kiddies love the park and the trails surrounding the campground.We can't wait for spring to return to come back ♡

I really needed a place to live after I got a job transfer until I can buy a home. The owners graciously squished me in for a month! Its a pretty and quiet site. I'm very happy here. Reception is on & off, but for camping, who cares? I wish they had room for me longer!
