Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park
Nicely secluded park and we’ll situated. I was impressed with how far back from the main hwy it was. Campsites were very well laid out, and very generous in size.

Beautiful park, some good sites with nice beaches and kids play area. A really good place to bring your dog with nice hikes and water access for dogs. A amazing river that you can float in with a inner tube. The camp store is good to buy the essentials and the staff is nice and helpful.

Absolutely beautiful park!! Off the beaten path, if that's what you like! We went down the river in tubes ....so much fun!! Lots of hiking trails and bodies of water for kayaking. This park is a gem!!

Beautiful park, there was only 1 site left and we took a chance and booked it… road coming in is bumpy but good if you have a truck, the park wasn’t really well signed.. as we seen so many lost as well. We did the Kag trail which was super intense (be prepared for “rock climbing” not a lot of wild life.. and they have a store with the basic items!

Made sure I was no where near the radio free zone. 5:13 pm has Karen, the only adult age employee, tell me to turn down my Bluetooth speaker because it can carry to the (empty) neighboring camp sites. Have never had this problem at a provincial park before and we've been camping them as a family for over 10 years. 5 stars for the area, -3 stars for power tripping Karen.

Good and Bad issues with this Park. The Bad issues is lack of staff, gate office is closed so your goong in without direction. The store where you register doesnt open until Noon and closed by 7pm. Our lot wasnt clean when we got there they showed up around 3ish stating we didnt get to clean your site is all ok? I was like yep all good we set set up now. I never seen them patrol during night. Now i did get told rudely to get off the beach with my little toy aussie dog and go sit in packing lot again you cant tell where neach starts and road or parking its a small little beach. But out site was beautiful large. Site 130 amazing. Lots of turtles. But we can hear the highway at night which i didnt care for at all.

Not our favorite provincial park. No hydro at this park. Thankfully the food we brought could be cooked on the firepit grill. I also appreciated the kurig coffee for purchase at the store. The sites are large and treed for privacy. The bathroom and showers were very clean and well kept. Perhaps cleaning the only washroom first thing in the morning is not the best time frame for campers. The beach and swimming was poor. The 9km hike (purple/blue) was challenging and exhausting, but with great views.

To start this park was amazing and has so much to offer! My friend and I decided to tackle our first big portage trip here, starting at long lake and going through a smaller lake to finally get to the gut (2 portage points involved) it was insane and almost broke our spirits and looking back we cannot find any other info on people doing this trip as well... if you have done it please feel free to share as well!If you plan to do this portage yourself, I suggest bringing a proper conoe (Not renting one from the park) and be prepared for some very rugged terrain!!!About the park itself:From games to souvenirs the main store was well stocked and had great pricing there are flush toilets and also showers which were routinely cleaned!During our stay we were greeted with nothing but smiles from all the staff and most of the campers, they have a variety of sites from rv to camping, some are more secluded than others, but overall it was an amazing experience and we will be back!
