Joni received lots of mix reviews. Some said very good, some said very disappointed. I gave it a try on New Year Eve. It only offers tasting menu at a price of $190 per person. Upon arrival, valet parking is almost a must, unless you parked at Yorkville public parking. Start with bread and some Italian sauages. Bread is surprising good, comparable to Louis Louix and Alo. Then oyster with creamy sauce, I like the combination, chef is very creative. Next course is the fras gois with the cute little pieces of bread. There is fish broth served, and I feel like the broth is a little salty. The halibut course is amazing, fish meat is firm and fresh. Next course is a piece big ravioli with truffle. Nice execution in this course, the waitress told us to cut in half, and there will be a raw egg inside. Last main course is the tenderloin with lobster. The steak cooked medium rare, and very tender. Finally dessert is a small cream puff with ice cream on a tart. Again, nice presentation and can see the chef put the effort on each course. I love Joni at Park Hyatt!

My girlfriend and I enjoyed Winterlicious lunch ($55++/person). The food was exquisite! We both thoroughly enjoyed every dish and left us wanting more!When it comes to Winterlicious I find that some restaurants don’t put as much effort into their food or they only offer the cheaper menu items. This was not the case at Joni. The mushroom soup was velvety smooth with laces of black garlic or balsamic!? The black cod had bursts of citrus and creaminess from the mussel sauce. My dessert “honey” was also delicious without being too sweet.Sadly the service did not meet our expectations for a 5 star hotel. The service did not do the dishes justice! Each dish was simply dropped off with only the name eg black cod” without describing the ingredients or complexity of each dish. Hence why I can’t really share the details of our meal. Other than the friendly hostess, the rest of the staff lacked finesse and passion. Felt like they were just there to collect a paycheque from their unionized job. I waited so long for my water glass to be topped up that I decided to go do it myself and no one even noticed.During the call to confirm our reso, the staff confirmed that we were celebrating a birthday and a promotion, sadly there wasn’t any gesture like a candle on our dessert or even a congratulations or warm wishes from the team. A verbal kindness would have gone such a long way. I would like to go back to try more dishes and I hope that the service will improve next time.*Valet parking is not validated for dining. $35 for the first 2 hours, $5 for each subsequent hour. There are nearby street parking + Green P.

Had Saturday brunch here last weekend and the crème brûlée french toast was divine! Another standout was the striploin steak, cooked to a perfect medium. The other two dishes we ordered were good, but not anything too special compared to your usual brunch offerings. Located right off the lobby, the ambiance at Joni Restaurant was comfortable with understated elegance. The level of customer care was exceptional in all aspects from the valet staff to our server. Lovely experience I will definitely repeat in the near future!

Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea with my girls! Our server did have a mishap of telling us to wait until our tea set is done to order more brunch menu, only for the kitchen to close and failed to submit our order. Would have been great to be warned of kitchen close, when she knew we wanted to order more and told us to delay it.Otherwise, the food was spectacular, and the space is immaculate.

Great spot in the Hyatt Yorkville. A place to decompress after a long day and enjoy the ambience. Good service and great food in an elegant setting. What else can you ask for.

Had dinner here with my partner for our anniversary. The atmosphere felt casually elegant and intimate. It is located on the ground floor of the hotel and with the high ceilings, this place did not feel stuffy. For the tasting menu, it is best to reserve 3 hours. Each course was explained upon serving and portioned well. The taste, texture, plating, and everything simply wow'd me. With well-timed intervals between each course, there was always room for the next dish. Bellies were full and happy by the end of dinner.

As of May 2023, everything is fully priced and the service and experience need improvements.Previous review: 5 starsMy new favourite place for tasting menu, as of April 27 2022.Great food, especially for the price under $100/person.Head chef is Antonio Soriano and does a fantastic job with the dishes.They really need to put together a Wine pairing option, just a little splash for each dish would suffice. Need a good Somm on site. I wasn’t offered the service from a Somm during my dining.The server was not very knowledgeable in wine which made things a little difficult. The wine selection by the glass were not matching up to the tasting menu. Slight disappointment.There are still things that needs improvements, 5 stars for the delicious food and support on Google, but it’s really a 4 stars overall for now as I look forward to more improvements on service and wine offerings.Best wishes.

Went for a lunch tea time. Had an impeccable experience. It was a redo because of a previous experience that the manager took care of. Previous was lack of service for about an hr not receiving anything. This time unbelievable in treatment with great French wine, caviar and all the extras. Great people watching :)

My girlfriend reserved this restaurant for her bday party tonight of “Chefs choices”and the overall experience was very disappointed so that I cannot even wait until next day to write this review.We came here to celebrate a big event in someone’s life yet they tell us to keep quite while we were laughing and talking, when you see people are taking loud and standing up everywhere past 9pm. Not gonna talk about that guys face, make us feel so unwelcome at a point we all wanted to just leave. Maybe he doesn’t mean it but should pay attention to your facial expressions too esp when serving in a high end restaurant.Our cake was not being refrigerated properly despite that we requested so we ended up with a half melted mess. And when they delivered the cake to the table, we asked if they can help us to cut the cake and they said they need to charge $5 per person if they cut it for us while we are already paying $120 per person for a 5 person table. What a ripoff.The food was lack of taste and quality.The only thing good entire night is the waiter who served us. He is very patient, always come with a smile and that’s the only reason we have left a tip to be honest.Overall it is a QUITE DISAPPOINTED experience for such called “fine dining” restaurant.Will not come back and will not recommend.

Such a surprise - the tasting menu was varied and fun, the staff had so much knowledge about the dishes and the wine, it was wonderful. Also happened to go on a Wednesday when they have live music! They have great mocktails as well!
