Perrenoud Wildlife Habitat Area
This is a heavily forested area of the foothills - but a scenic drive to get to, though a bit hard to find. Turn left onto a gravel road (RR 54) for about 1/2 mile, and park at the wide turnaround, entrance to the east. There is no trail map evident. I give it only 3 stars here because the trails are not well marked at all - almost merely deer trails, and so intimidating to follow for inexperienced hikers, and some may get quite confused as to which way to go. But a great place to see American Three-toed Woodpeckers. The most spectacular scenic route is via Grand Valley Road (50A) all the way from and back to Hwy 1A
