Annie is truly one of the best! The quality of work and time on my hair was truly like no other. After taking a break from years of intense hair bleaching at other salons I had worries getting a blonde balayage done on my hair and I couldn’t be happier with choosing this salon! Super professional and caring team! This will be my go to spot from now on! Definitely recommend it!

Annie’s Beauty Bar gives absolutely amazing friendly customer service. I had three different chunks of different colours in my hair and Annie was able to completely transform my hair and make it gorgeously blonde. I would definitely recommend this salon as Annie cares for the health of your hair and will take the time to fix whatever you got going on.

I visited Annie’s Beauty Bar for the first and last time last fall. I’d been getting my hair highlighted for years downtown MTL and had just moved to a new area so was excited to find a place closer to home. I left after 10pm bawling my eyes out. Lise was very nice, I truly liked her, we chatted the whole time. I made a last min appt early evening to get highlights, which in my experience, has normally taken about 2.5 hours give or take a few. It didn’t bother me to have to wait 30 mins for my appt because I saw she was the only one there and finishing up another client. I noticed her ‘painting’ both sides of each strand twice, but didn’t think much of it. Fast forward - it’s 10pm, I finally ask her to just trim straight across the dead ends and leave it because it’s late. No blow dry, no layers, just trim across the ends….FIVE HUNDRED AND FOURTY DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!I couldn’t believe it. I have never paid close to that. MAAAAAAYBE 300$ tops in a fancy place downtown but never 540$!! She said she used extra product for my hair and that I had thick hair. I freakin wish. I was on maternity leave and had therefore lost tons of hair.Truthfully, I didn’t hate my hair. It was just as I’d always gotten it. No problem there. But I left with sopping wet hair, after 5 hours, and despite Lise calling her daughter Annie (the owner), Annie made me pay that amount. I am not the type to just walk out and not pay for a service but I am appalled with their prices… I think I had my first real panic attack. Annie reached out to me and asked me to come back so she could “complete the look” which just further upset me because that sounds like I payed you 540$ for an INCOMPLETE job now. I just couldn’t go and I never will again.

I have NEVER been more upset with a service before. I came in with black hair that was just above my chest. I wanted to go back to a medium brown colour, with it being a bit lighter at the ends (balayage). When I came into the salon, I was blamed for choosing the wrong/2 different services on their website. This was not the case as another Valerie came into the salon a couple hours later (she ended up leaving because she was waiting for hours). I was waiting in a chair for over an hour before anybody started working on my hair. I booked the appointment with ANNIE, yet someone else was working on my hair. I asked her if she understood what I wanted, since I was VERY anxious to begin with. She said “it’s not my first day”. LOL. After I showed everyone the picture of the hair I wanted, I was assured that they would be able to do it. Keep in mind that a patch test was NOT done, even in the hour long wait in the beginning. The lady started doing my hair, which was an incredibly long and tiring process, all for it to be NOTHING like what I wanted. After around 5 hours, she was finally done. Then I had to wait another hour for all of the bleach to lift my hair (the bleach that was on the bottom of my hair was there for hours). Anyway, once the whole process was over, I was left with like 5 inches of my half absolutely ruined. It was so thin, half of it had broken off. I cried my heart out because I had explained to them in the beginning that I didn’t even want a trim since I’m trying to grow my hair out. ON TOP OF THIS, the non damaged part of my hair wasn’t even the colour I had wanted. I still had to pay over $300 for them to ruin my hair. I went back a few days later because I needed to cut all the damaged hair off. I didn’t want to at my original appointment because I couldn’t bring myself to let go. Plus, she had styled it in a way that it sort of hid the ugliness of the bottom of my hair. She ended up cutting all the damage off, which left me with shoulder length hair. Annie was a very nice woman, but the experience I had with her and this salon was absolutely devastating.

Just had my hair cut and blown dry with Annie - one of the best cuts I have had! Annie took the time to consult with me on my new hair style, and checked-in through-out the process to make sure we were on the same page. The result for me is fantastic - exactly what I was looking for. The salon is easy to get to, and very nice inside. And the service was great! I will be back!! Highly recommend!!
