Grim Tattoo Studios

This is my favorite place to go to get a tattoo. 7 of my 9 tattoos have been here. I have seen several different artists here and all of them do great work. My most recent tattoo was done by Luiz . Not only is his artwork amazing but he keeps in touch for aftercare process to make sure you are healing nicely. He had a very gentle touch it really only hurt hours in or when going over a bone(as to be expected). I really can't wait until next summer to show it off, but I have already been getting a ton of compliments from the few who have seen. I personally could not be happier with the work!!! I have never been disappointed when I come to this place.

Had my nose pierced 4 weeks ago and i highly recommend booking with crystal. She is amazing and very professional and experienced. If you are scared of needles i promise you she will help calm you down and give you a countdown. The sweetest person at grim :)

Got a microdermal piercing yesterday by Crystal and a hand tattoo today by Felipe. Both were very professional and incredible sweet and polite. Great atmosphere inside and great vibes. Highly recommend to everyone! Thank you for the awesome experiences

Seen Kris for a tattoo and then a touch up a month after. She is lovely and super talented. So many good things to say about this place. Been coming here because they are so easy to deal with and have the best artists. Highly recommend Kris at Grim City. ♥️

My best friend and I came in last Friday and got matching “cat skull” tattoos done by Mat Heaphy and he did a killer job! We came in a week before and explained what we were looking for and he came up with the perfect stencil. The vibe at Grim is super chill which makes for a great experience; from the front end staff to the actual artists, everyone there was super nice. Already recommended this place to friends looking for new ink and will def be back again myself!

Grim is for sure my go to piercing place! I have been here multiple times - got my belly button, cartilage, 2nd, 3rd lobes, rook, and tragus done by Crystal. She is amazing and so nice. She talks you through everything and makes it very comfortable. I was just there last week and got by tongue pierced by Brad. He was also amazing!! Talked me through everything and the piercing turned out amazing. I recommend this place to all my friends.

I got a piercing done with crystal back in august- after allowing it to heal it looks amazing. We had a good time and she placed it perfectly into the centre (was a vertical labret). She was helpful with aftercare and super caring, she just has one of those personality where you feel you’ve known them for a while, highly would recommend her ♡

I had a mixed experience with Grim. The place is nice and clean. Came in to get my nose pierced and second lobes, my friend also had an appointment at the same time and also had a simular opinions on the attitude of staff. One lady I spoke with when we first arrive was super nice I believe she does the removal work. The next staff we spoke with were the piercers, they we asking what kind of jewelry we wanted. The overall impression was not a very welcoming experience they almost seemed put out by our appointments. I had said I wanted a standard ring for my nose and regular studs in my ears until they are healed. They flat out told me that the can't give a ring for my nose when I asked them why they said can't because they turn and will re-introduce bacteria (by the way the bar moves back and forth just as much). I asked them what the other basic options where they said its a bar type. My friend getting a daith piercing was given a ring wouldn't it also have the same issue with turning? They other jewelry was way over priced so I just agreed to the basic bar. Wasn't given any information on if it was treaded top or not nor did I know this something to ask, the last time I had a piercing done (different tattoo studio many years ago) they only had treaded ball/post. The piercers had us sit upstairs for at least 30 minutes I don't know if that was because I had to book appointment for my nose and ears seperately so there was a double time slot? During the actual piercing everything was okay they explained everything talked through the steps. We paid for the basic jewelry which is not included in the piercing price and we were on our way. 4 days later the ball falls off the post and went un notice until the bar fell out unexpectedly. I couldn't find the ball so I put the post in backwards so it wouldn't keep falling out and made a trip back to grim. The girl at the front counter this time seemed to have no clue about what standard jewelry the piercers used which wasn't helpful because the piercers were not there to help. Apparently there is more than one type of post they use, there is a ball with a pin that goes into the post which has to bent half way in to lock it in place and the treaded one. Having no clue as to what they used she gave me the ball with pin. I had no idea how to put this in and asked how to do it and I was handed a little instruction paper. So I brought it home attempted to put it in and after about 5 attempts at bending part lost the ball behind the vanity. Back to the grim again this time I just asked to purchase the ring and I would put it in myself or find someone who could. This time no piercing staff again and we don't know the standard guage the piercers use. She offered to book an appointment but by this time I just decided to go elsewhere as it had already been days and I didn't want it to fall out and close before I noticed or to have to continue to touch it constantly keep the pin in. Overall staff needs to be more welcoming of customers and not make them feel like they are a inconvenience and train staff that are recieving customers so they have some basic information on the services you provide. It shouldn't require a piercer to sell jewelry from your own store. Basic information like Guage used diameter needed for future jewelry purchases and type of piercing jewelry used with instructions on how to change (along with wait times for changing and care instructions which were given) should all be provided to the clients at time of piercing so if it happens to fall out the situation can be rectified without confusion and in a timely manner.For anyone planning on using grim ask for information above you may need it to purchase your own jewelry. If your want a nose ring keep in mind they won't give you a ring here for at least a year after piercing.I now have a nose ring as I originally wanted that another tattoo shop piercer gladly helped me replace. Hopefully my nose can now heal now since I don't have it getting snaged or fiddle with it.

Awesome work here, love my coverup by Mat!I'm hearing impaired and they were great about it, even offered to turn off the music. Also made sure to face me when talking so I could lip read.Very welcoming and accommodating!

I’ve gone here a few times for tattoos and piercings and it’s always a delight! Staff are super friendly, welcoming, and very helpful! Kristian did my tattoo and I’m still in love with it a year later :)
