Great history lesson on this historical inventor. Besides the telephone, his accomplishments helped shape much of today

Great exhibits on Bells major inventions (telephone and improvements on the telegraph), as well as his less succesful minor inventions. Bell tinkered incessantly with simple methods for solving problems. He even experimented with sheep breeding, in an unsuccessful effort to develop a flock of sheep which would consistently bear twins". It is claimed however that he was able to breed a flock of multi-nippled sheep. Also a wonderful musical on Bell's life which is highly recommended."

Loved reading all about Graham Bell and his various invention s and experiments other than the telephone. Great experience for the kids. It is located at a very nice spot in the Cape Breton area, right across Bras'O Dor lake and very near to all the popular restraunts in the Badeck area.

SPOILER ALERT: AGB was not Canadian. He had a summer place here in Baddeck and emigrated with his family from Scotland to Brantford, Ontario, but was an American citizen who lived in Boston and Washington DC. His main Canadian achievements were Canada's first flight and pioneering work on hydrofoils. That being said, this is a fascinating museum with lots to see and learn.

I've known about Alexander Graham Bell all my life and I feel ashamed that I did not realize his scope of influence and love of discovery. This museum pays homage to one of the greatest inventors of our time. It is a wonderful exhibit with full scale replicas and deep history kiosks. You can take your time and go through the exhibits at your own pace. It also showcases his wife and scientific partnerships that you may not have known. I was inspired by the exhibit and only wished I'd seen this when I was young!

learn detailed information about life of Alexander Graham Bell and his family and personal life. How his inventor skills formed up throughout his life and how he put them to work on each corner point of his life, even his marriage to a hearing impaired girl. Museum is well designed but seemed a little small to me. I was expecting a bigger exhibition, however Location is an amazing choice. Great vista point. Building is designed with A frame large wood beams and you can see triangular shapes all over citing his usage of tetrahedron in his works. Site is surrounded with a wonderful garden and landscaping. I was expecting to see more of his personal belongings and literature. Also presentations should be improved and live presentations should be spiced up for young generation. Anybody below 30 will not show any interest on this kind of presentation

Adult admission is $8.50. Senior is $7.00. Youth aged 17 and under enter for free. The admission prices include tax. Total cost for us was $25.50. There's a museum gift store. There are different sections of the museum that displays various things, such as his ideas, air creations, water creations, his teaching of the deaf, etc. There are theatre areas to watch short documentaries.Alexander Graham Bell taught deaf people the Visual Speech language that his father created. He created sheeps that would give birth to twins consistently. He created the first telephone. He created many toys. He made all sorts of prototypes of his experiments. He made the graphophone. He worked in aviation and aircraft experiments. He worked on a hydrofoil boat for the waters. He participated in all sorts of experiments. He conducted research on why some people live longer than others. He created organizations/associations for different things. He created his own laboratory. His wife Mabel Bell, also participated in his experiments and had a broad interests in many things as well. She gardened not for fun but for science as well. There are a collection of letters between Alec and Mabel. The letters show of their love.Very educational museum. Goes into a lot of history of mainly Alexander Graham Bell, but there are others as well. Anyone somehow remotely related with the inventor and scientist, is here. The replica of the Silver Dart sits here in the museum.Come here to learn the history of the inventor/scientist Alexander Graham Bell who contributed to Canada's advancement.

Great museum to visit and learn more about the founder of the telephone and other ingenious inventions. Lots of parking spaces available and is a good rainy weather activity for the family. Unfortunately some exhibits were closed due to Covid, but overall it was an educational experience. Entrance fee is included as part of your Parks Canada pass.
