Only went to the restaurant for dinner. The food was ok, but not very hot when it arrived. We sat outside so I'm not sure how far it was from the kitchen.Great view of the lake though.Service was great.

Back to being a great place to Eat. Gluten Friendly options.I can attest that the fish and chips are excellent.Nice view of the lake.

We stayed for 2 nights for snowmobile trip. January 20th and 21st 2022. Rooms is nice and cozy. Front service was terrible when checking out. Rented the suit room for the jazlcuzzi and fire place. Front service pretty much blamed me and my wife like we were dumb and didn't know how to use it and call them late at night to fix it. Checking out we told them it didn't work all wekeend and they stayed it's checked every day. Ranted on about its not there fault. Don't recommend staying here. Service is poor. And also it snowed the day before and we arrived nothing was shovel out, snow blown against the door. Pooly upkept outside . Very little spots to park truck and snowmobile trailer.

Normally I don't get too negative about my motel stays (I think the last one was the Silversands on Sand Lake in 2013 on a RAP tour) but have some comments about the Ash Grove Inn in Barry's Bay. First off, the food was good and no complaints in that respect.I don't know if it was the sub-arctic temps or the their heating system isn't up to the task (I'm no HVAC expert), but firstly the propane regulators were freezing up.In the rooms, the thermostat is located about four feet from the heater. So while you may feel warm standing within six feet of the heater, standing between the two beds and you were chilled. The bathroom even with the door open felt like the inside of a refrigerator. I saw at least two floor vents that had a cold draft from the crawl space. I covered them with towels to try to block this.Our last stay there was in 2019 (not as cold outside) and found that the hot water system was problematic then and still is. You turn on the hot side and it's a couple of minutes before warm water then hot starts to flow. Turn off the tap and then go to turn it on again a minute or so later, you have to wait for hot water again.We were a group of snowmobilers, so a warm, not chilly room is appreciated at the end of the day.

Had breakfast at the restaurant and it was OK, the server we had was pleasant and quick, food was OK. The problem with this motel was with my suite; the room was filthy. I had to bring back my original batch of towels as they were visibly dirty, one actually had three different colours of dirt on it. The couch was stained, so I put one of new new (clean?) towels on it to sit down. There were four extra pillows in the closet, three of which were almost comically dirty and unusable. The TV fires up properly, but the Shaw TV box was not activated, so no TV. There were hairs in the bathroom and the hair dryer had a half an inch of dust on it. Additionally, my suite's bathroom had a very small shower with a very well used bath mat in that looked like it has seen better days. The only redeeming quality of this motel is the view of the lake. In short, I would have to be quite desperate to stay here again.

Called to reserve thier last room for a family member and his 4 young children, who came to the area for family funeral. The lady I spoke to was understanding, or so I thought, when I explained the situation. Children were 8 yrs, 4 yrs, 2 yrs and 3 months. After speaking to her manager, we were told 2 youngest wouldn't be charged due to ages. When my nephew arrived, they refused to give him the room. Spoke to Manager/owner over phone, who tried to tell me I lied and said o said there were only 2 adults and 2 kids. Please keep in mind I had witnesses to my conversation when reserving. The Owner refused to listen to me about the situation, was completely void of compassion and understanding. When told a review would be posted, he handed the phone back to my nephew. This family already were dealing with a devasting loss, and to be turned away like animals, had to drive 3 hrs home with their young tired children. Don't stay here if you're looking to be treated with respect, equality and compassion. All I have left to say to the Owner is this: SHAME ON YOU! And FYI, the cheapest advertising a business can rely on is word of mouth, and this loud voice will have NOTHING POSITIVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS PLACE to anyone who asks.

8 snowmobiles with 10 ppl. We had a new waitress being trained and she did great!! Food was good and came out quicker than we expected. There were many other snowmobilers also eating. Very convenient location on the trail. There was an attached motel. The outside was very esthetically pleasing. Definitely a place we'd consider staying.

I can’t give this place ANY stars! My son and his family were home for a family funeral, called for a room as home was too far to go back, these people who I can’t even say are humans, refused them a room! Said they had too many kids!!!!! Unbelievable that in a small community that this would even happen! I will NEVER eat here, nor will I EVER recommend this motel to anyone! You people disgust me! This family had two babies a 5 year old and a 9 year old and treated so badly it’s inconceivable!
