Absorbent Minds Montessori
It’s my son’s second year at this school and I’m very happy to see him making a good progress on his fine muscle and language skills that Montessori lesson materials and teachers really helped him developing. He likes his teachers and always seemed having a good time at school. Teachers are all very caring and diligent. (Appreciation for all the hard work to Ms Preeti, Ms Cora and Ms Christina) I do recommend this school for preschool education.

We had two of our kids attend Absorbent Minds for pre-school. One of them actually went through the Kindergarten program as well. They both loved the school and the teachers. They learned so much and are so far ahead of the other kids in their class now because of Absorbent Minds. I am a big fan of the Montessori method and all the teachers have been fantastic. They have a very long waiting list so good to get your kids signed up early if you want to enroll!

It is one amazing preschool. After more then a year in Absorbent Minds Montessori, I strongly recommend. My daughter progress is very obvious. She developed high problem solving and organizing skills. She developed logical thinking and a lot of efficient social skills. That came with a lot of self esteem. When I registered her, I wasn’t too happy because her writing and reading skills were not getting any further but as of now, I wish her elder siblings had a chance like hers to develop their essential life skills before their academic ones. Thanks to all the mindful teachers in Absorbent Mind. Happy holidays

Environment: clean and tidy, definitely the pure Montessori style. No toys, but materials for the kids to study. Super quiet, structured classroom, 100% self-learning environment, socializing is discouraged. In my opinion, materials are appealing to some older kids but may hard to endure for younger ones.Teachers: always smiling, even if they are upset, this is impressive. Two teachers per classroom. I don’t know too much beyond that since conversations between parents and teachers are heavily monitored and controlled. Bios are not openly shared. And information is limited. Hope they improve and make things more transparent in the future.Students: quiet and obedient, by nature or the school will mold them that way. Most are Chinese and East Indians. My impression is the school philosophy is most appealing to parents from those regions.Policy: Massive boundaries between parents, teachers and the children. Example: In class, a child has to quietly walk to the teacher and put his/her hand on her to indicate they have questions before using words. When they speak, they have to whisper. Also, long conversations with the teachers are not allowed at drop off/pick up, which gives parents limited resources to know how their children are at school unless something bad happens then they will email.Cost: somewhere around $600 per month. 5 days a week and 3 hours each. They use reduced hours for first month( gradual entry) and December because of holidays, but monthly fee remains the same. Why 3 stars:pros are-They took great effort to make this school very Montessori.-teachers appeal to be kind, unlike the serious and threatening type from some Montessori schools.-Nice uniforms, like the type Catholic school students were.Cons:-Lack of flexibility-Absence of humility-Bad communication from the school’s end.- The flaws comes with the Montessori method( This is also debatable)Lastly, advice to parents who want to enrol your children there: If they are quiet, task oriented, somewhat mature for their age, can sit down and focus for a long time, and highly disciplined: great environment and opportunities to learn practical and academic skills! If your children are however active, playful and want to make friends, WRONG environment!! For children still have rooms to develop socially and linguistically, not suggesting this environment neither. Some parents may want to send their kids to Montessori school to get them influenced and make them more disciplined. It is the wrong direction in my opinion. You teach your kids at home to obey rules and the sense of respect. Don’t rely on the school to do that. Because they won’t, it will only frustrate the teachers if your children are not comfortable to confine to the school’s unique way of conduct. You will end up be advised that they are not suitable for Montessori, and go through the hassle of switching them to another school, where everywhere else got waiting list in the middle of school year. So really evaluate your children’s personalities and make wise choices.

All 3 of my kids have been to this school and its fantastic. Great teachers who truly care and great hands on work that kids understand. In fact we love this school so much that we have had 7 kids from our family go to this school (nieces and nephews). Its been a fantastic foundation for their future. The teachers are excellent and the children adore them. I kept both my daughters at Absorbent Minds Montessori for their kindergarten year.My third child is currently in 2nd year preschool.Absorbent Minds Montessori is a great choice for your child's future.

We spent about 10 months with Absorbent Minds at their Burnaby location. Unfortunately we had to move out of the province for work and could not continue here. This school is hands down the best Montessori preschool I have had the pleasure to be at. I spent a lot of time researching Montessori schools for my little one and the level of authenticity and excellence this school has displayed is beyond any other school.Right from my daughter’s transition to preschool, to her everyday work, the new skills she has learnt , the grace and courtesy she displays , her interpersonal relationships with her peers, I can see the positive touches of the teachers everywhere. The teachers truly love what they do and it shows in the affection they shower on the kids. My daughter loved them like family. The firm yet compassionate structure that they provide in the classroom is truly the best for the development of our little ones.I wish I didn’t have to leave. I would recommend this school to everyone in a heartbeat.

Having 3 kids we have experienced other Montessoris and this one is by far the best. My middle child attends Absorbent Minds and has thrived a lot. She is always happy to go to school everyday to see her teachers and classmates. She brings her knowledge back home and applies it to everyday life and Im always amazed at everything she has learned at her age. The teachers all have lots of experience and you can see how they all love what they do and their genuine love for the children. My youngest will be attending Absorbent Minds in the fall. I highly recommend this Montessori to anyone that is considering it.

I feel so fortunate to have my son attend Absorbent Minds Preschool. I really wanted him to learn through the montessori method because of it’s philosophy towards independence. I visited a few other montessori preschools before deciding to come here. Absorbent Minds was the only school that authentically followed the Montessori method which is why I chose to come here. The teachers are warm and compassionate and they have so much patience. They make you feel so comfortable leaving your child in their care. We are always informed and kept up to date with school info. The kids are so well behaved during parent observations and performances. My son loves going to this school. He became very independent at home and is always wanting to help us in the kitchen. His language skills improved and also his basic letter recognition, printing and numeracy.I am very impressed with this school and everything my son is learning.

Although my older son didn't seem to thrive in a Montessori environment, my younger son certainly does. So much so, that we are passing up on free public kindergarten, and keeping our child here for kindergarten. What I like the most is that my child loves going each afternoon, loves his classmates and teachers, understands the rules, and seems to be appropriately challenged in many areas. It seems that the teachers love what they do.I would recommend this preschool to anyone.I compared prices with a large Facebook parenting group and was overwhelmingly informed that the price here is excellent.

Both my kids attend absorbent minds Montessori. My daughter has been at this school for 3 years. We held her back to complete her kindergarten year too. Now my son attends too. My son has been to another Montessori but doesn't compare to absorbent minds. The teachers at this school has lots of experiences and knowledge. You can tell how much the teacher loves the kids and their job. If I can give this school 10 stars I would.
