Matheson Seniors Residence

Unfortunately this place is terrible. I have known ppl that have worked there and said supervisors treat them like garbage. The management thinks they are important and above others and even the ladies at the front desk. Seniors complain about how rude or unhelpful they are. As I know first hand as I have relatives that live in this building for many years. Snooping into and butting into the seniors business as I know my relative wouldn't know better if she didn't have us to inform her. Even helping her up to her place with her groceries the manager (that works so hard only is there til lunch believe his name start a with a J) gets on his high horse and decides to wrote and give out many ticket knowing and seeing what I was doing. As they as part of a voluntary ticketing program with the city. Not to mention the constant bed bug problems. Just unless your homeless don't move here. Can't wait til my relative is out so I'll never have to step inside this building again!!

Just did some renpvations, nice seniors complex near Westmount

I lived there for 9 months enjoyed all the amenities that the building and the area offered. When I moved in, the staff were very helpful in hanging my curtain rods and inspections done regularly. The tenants and staff were very nice, and enjoyed many short conversations and laughter. The grounds are well taken care of as they all take pride in the building and property especially during covid to ensure it is safe place to live for everyone. Fantastic place to live.

My mother lives here and the staff have been excellent. The occupants are friendly which makes it a pleasant place to be. Recent renovations have made the building like new.

My parents have lived there for a few years and the manager is not very good to deal with. Both my parents are hearing impared and my mom can barely walk. The building had a bed bug issue recently, which i just found out its been an issue for years. The first treatment didnt work and my parents were to blame cause they didnt get the suite ready. The building said my parents have to pay for the 1st and second treatment since bed bugs came back and the suite wasnt ready. The second treatment they offered to move everything for my parents at $50.00 per hour, which should of been offered the first time since they are seniors who cant move their furniture like that. Now after the 6th treatment and bed bugs still an issue they want my parents to pay $3500.00 and evicting them. Like my parents were the ones who brought the bed bugs into the building. The building already had bed bug issues. Makes no sense.

My first review was done while I was working nights (and trying to sleep during the day), during a huge, disruptive, year long, building wide plumbing upgrade, and, as a result. my review was a bit heavy handed. Now that things are back to normal, I have decided it best to re-write it, plumbing project aside.This is a very nice clean and well maintained building, and has now gone thru several large upgrades in order to keep things modernized and working properly. The office, cleaning, and maintenance staff do good work here all around, and it shows. My mother lived here for many years and I was always impressed with this building. It is large though, with 400 to 450 suites, it can be a beehive of activity during daytime, especially in the main gathering areas, if you enjoy activity, but gets nice and quiet at night. There is a security provider and regular suite checks for hording or pests in order to ensure a clean safe environment for all of us. Very fair rental pricing, especially with amenities such as our excellent restaurant, and some nice perks included such as an exercise room, smoking room, games room, gathering hall, library, public computers, and free in suite WIFI. I have a freshly renovated suite with all new everything. Very cozy. I feel lucky to be here. Thumbs up.PS. There is not enough parking here so management pointed me across the street to their other property, where I now rent a parking spot one block away for the cost of $25,00 a month. As I am still healthy and don't mind the walk, it works for me just fine.

Location, location, location! Shopping and groceries are within walking distance. Buses are just outside the door. Absolutely a first rate garden area to visit your friends while listening to the fountain babble away. Yes, it is an older building but renovations are ongoing giving us new windows and added space to our suites. Coffee in the morning is a great way to meet other tenants. There is no other place in town at these prices that give you all your utilities and cable access. Please come and join us.

I lived in the Matheson for 2 and a half years. I would still be living there if my circumstances did not change. Cheap rent. Nice neighbours. A good in-house restaurant. And I had prime parking! Management was very fair to me. The ladies in the front office were top notch. Westmount is a great area. My time there was marked by much construction noise, which disturbed my sleep as I worked at night, but that was my problem. Many staff and tenants persevered and stayed positive. I was always impressed with regular inspections of my suite. Attention to detail is a good thing. Not too many places in Edmonton that could top the Matheson.

If I could give a 0 stars I would. This place kicked my father out on the streets back in July where he has been robbed and severly beaten and are still to this day stealing money from his account. My father has been in ICU since October so there is no reason why they should be taking anything from his account. My father is a senior so this just goes to show how well they look after people in senior care.How would you know MY PERSONAL problems are you stalking my social media? Don't use my personal life to justify what you've created. And I have proof that you have been taking g renters insurance from his account the bank doesn't lie.

My mother resides here. Overall it is a lovely place. They are currently renovating all over so expect some changes and noise for a while (2021-2022). I highly recommend the restaurant on the second floor.
