Midwifery Care - North Don River Valley

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We had our child delivered unplanned, at home, on the living room floor, without any medical expertise around us, since our midwife didn’t feel like getting out of her bed on the morning of Dec 31 2022. Not only was I put in an excruciating and tormenting scenario of having to get the baby out of my wife, I almost lost my Wife due to her incompetence in diagnosing her!! Causing excess blood loss in the 4 hrs post delivery, and had to be finally hospitalized, given and epidural after hours of agonizing pain and trauma! Not to take away from the other midwives who were with us during pregnancy and did a fine job, however, I would never recommend an unsympathetic and an inconsiderate midwife, who would not get you admitted to the hospital and is unable diagnose active labor. Please make sure you choose your midwife carefully I wouldn’t want anyone to go through this trauma.

I had the best experience with the midwives and all the staff working here. My team was Mai, Maya, Liz and Katelyn. They were all so kind and respectful of my choices. Katelyn delivered my baby and she was SUPER kind, patient and professional!!!I felt welcomed every time i would step in this clinic as the receptionist and everyone was super friendly and accommodating.Highly recommend this midwifery care!!!

I had my babies in 2016 and 2018 and had a wonderful experience. After all these years I realized I had never written a review!My midwife for both pregnancies was Wendy Wong she was absolutely the most kind ,and caring person. She was informative, thorough , took her time with me and made sure I was cared for and most comfortable always during my appts and not to mention labour.She and her assistant stayed by my side for both my births esp my first birth which took 22hrs! She never left my side. I still remember after those 22hrs I was told I needed a c-section and Wendy had made her way into to the operating room and kissed my forehead before leaving. During the 9 months we had built a special bond so of course it only made sense to have her along for my second birth. All in all the entire team is nothing but amazing! Still today I always recommend this place to my friends and family who are expecting!! Thank you again!

Absolutely incredible midwives - Krista and Wendy! Really compassionate care provided. I had multiple times I was sick and needed to be hospitalized and they were both very prompt to respond to my page and take care of me in the hospital.I would return back to this clinic and specifically Krista and Wendy for future pregnancies.

I highly recommend! I received incredible care throughout my pregnancy. Although complications changed my birth plan, my wishes were always respected and I was able to avoid a transfer of care.

Highly highly recommend! With my first I had an OBGYN and decided for my second to go with a Midwife and was recommended to NDRV Midwives. My team included Kristy, Heather, Andrea and Jaclyn and they were amazing!! They always provided all the information I needed and took the time to answer all my questions. They also provided me with all the information so that where I was able to, I was in control of making the decisions regarding my labour/delivery. I was so sure I would need an epidural (like I did with my first), but Kristy was so positive and motivating and took me through to the end completely naturally!! The after care from the whole team was amazing and they were always quick to respond when I had questions regarding newborn care and helped me solve any issues I was having quickly. I was sad to be discharged but would recommend everyone to this Midwifery!

Highly recommend. The care and support you will receive will be just wonderful. My midwives Krista and Jill were so kind, gentle, knowledgeable and supportive in every way. I will not forget laughing as the baby was delivered! Sad to say goodbye to these lovely ladies!

This place is amazing! I received such incredible care from my team of midwives (Mariana, Andrea, and Kristy). They have such a wealth of expertise and knowledge, and a compassionate, down-to-earth demeanour. I felt so reassured as a first-time mom full of questions and anxieties. The postpartum home visits were a life saver, especially for breastfeeding support. The administrative staff are really thorough, kind and helpful as well. If/when there’s a second baby I will definitely be returning! It’s a no-brainer. I am so deeply grateful to them for a positive pregnancy and birth experience — it was sad to say goodbye after six weeks postpartum. Thank you team!

This review is long overdue but please don’t think twice about reaching out to North Don River Valley midwives, they deserve all the stars in the sky. Almost brings me to tears thinking that it was 6 months ago now that they helped me bring my sweet girl into this world! I couldn’t have asked for better care for us before, during and after birth. Huge thank you to my team, Shay, Mariana and Mai who were all so incredible throughout my time with them. I had such an amazing birthing experience - pretty sure that right after I said “I would have a million more babies if they were all like that”. Also want to shout out the wonderful people at the front desk who were always incredibly kind and answered any question or email I had so quickly. I told my husband how sad it was going to be to be discharged. I wish you could all meet Zara now, she is such a dream! Thank you for supporting this first time mama and for making me that much more excited to do it all again. :)

This was my first pregnancy and the care and support I received was really great. Mai, Shay, Kelly and Mariana all gave excellent care to me and my baby. I also had the help of Mary Ann and Andrea during my labour and they were wonderful. Very kind and compassionate midwives, and they are very qualified and highly skilled. Even my mom who had midwives for her births said she had not seen such good midwives as these were. I definitely recommend!
