The Outside Guy

Called The Outside Guy for a simple outdoor painting job and masonry work.Initially we were told ALL the flagstone would need to be ripped up and reset. We were provided a quote (which for the scope of the job seemed reasonable). However, only part of the flagstone was taken up and reset. Although the job was “fixed”, we over paid by roughly $1500.We needed our deck and porch sanded and painted and were charged $2000 for a small back deck and $1500 for a small front porch. The wrong paint was used and began peeling as soon as the snow melted.When Martin came to offer the initial quote he said “we guarantee all work for one year” and upon being contacted about the paint peeling and the steps cracking was unresponsive for 2 phone calls and 3 emails.With taxes he charged nearly $8000 for a job that cost less than $2500 to have done by a true professional and less than $1000 to do it yourself. We opted for the former assuming it would be done the right way - we were wrong.You will also notice the Facebook page for The Outside Guy no longer allows reviews. This feature was removed from their page shortly after receiving various negative reviews from others for overcharging and poor quality work. Unfortunately, we didn’t notice these posts until the deposit was made.There are other options, go with literally anyone else.

We tried unsuccessfully to get a quote from this company for 5 months.No calls or emails were returned.

I called last-minute to have a driveway plowed to accommodate visitors, they answered the phone promptly, confirmed the address, and took care of the job in just over an hour. Outstanding!
