House of Dance

My daughters are on the competitive team at House of Dance and my youngest will be starting dance there this September as well. We started coming this summer and I have already noticed the amount they have learned in such a short time. The positive energy that the studio brings makes it so welcoming for everyone. My daughters look forward going to dance and seeing all the amazing teachers. The facility is up to date and clean. Taylor and all of his staff are great with everyone and make you feel welcome. The safety and cleaning protocols that have been put into place even during this time has made me feel comfortable sending my girls to dance. We can't wait to start this journey with HOD.

Taylor Roper is highly skilled and a gifted teacher and choreographer. This is complimented by the nurturing environment given to the children by Leslie.Taylor is a welcomed teacher and choreographer at our studio every year. Our students love his workshops and look forward to his visits. I wish we could have him more as he is just exceptional with the dancers of all ages. Very good place, children are enjoying their time there with their professional teachers besides there are cameras inside the dance studio so you can watch your child’s performance from the tv in the lobby, I like this place because beside of Al this it’s so close to where I live

House of Dance has gone extremely down hill over the 4 years we have been a part of it. Leslie and Taylor have shown their true colours. They are elitist, and prideful, and mean, and will do and say anything to children without any filter. Taylor asked me to have my son audition for comp, after doing several private evaluations with him. That was the last time Taylor said or did anything encouraging towards my son. In three years of being on the comp team, not a single teacher or Taylor have ever reached out to discuss my son's progress, or his strengths or weaknesses. Leslie took every opportunity to point out to me in front of all the parents how much she dislikes him. But it is obvious she dislikes all children, so that didn't ohase me too much. Thousands of dollars and I never received a review or any feedback.What I did receive is stories from my 5-9 year old son, about the children calling him fat during class and no one doing anything about it. About him saying he didn't want to do a duet because he felt bullied by his partner, so the partner was given a solo and his extra was removed. About the girls learning a new acro move and Taylor saying in front of the whole class, including my son the last one to get this move has to do a duet with Markus. Haha!" - this one happened at least twice. I also heard stories from other parents that Taylor told them "I disclose Markus because he hates dance and his parents force him to come."Not only is this completely untrue - but if it were true it is so unethical. Such a positive and fun environment. Taylor's infectious love of dance truly transfers to his students. His bubbly personality makes you feel at home in the studio. Beautiful new space with large studios, sprung floors and sound systems. Competitive and Rec programs are available here.

My daughter danced here for two years and that was more than enough. Even I paid hundreds of dollars for her part time competitive class, my daughter had to endure the verbally abusive, negative, ridiculous teaching methods they used. There are couple of teachers she had that are very friendly, but one of the main teachers Ms. Summy is horrible for young girls' self-esteem and self-image.I bought this to school attention, but they said that the she is a great teacher while my daughter is sulking and it is unacceptable. What a shame!Do not bring your children here, it is such a negative, emotionally abusive environment and the actual dance training isn't even close to worth it.

So glad I found this dance studio and made the switch. Awesome space...Awesome teachers. Both of my children love it. Taylor (studio director) is amazing! He is great with the dancers and the parents. My children are competitive dancers and in such a short time, they have improved a lot! They are motivated to be the best they can and it shows! They both love coming to dance to learn and have fun at the same time. I'd also like to add that the energy is very positive. The parents, dancers, and teachers are all welcoming, friendly and approachable!
