Outstanding sushi restaurant out in East Chinatown. Love their torched ebi (shrimp) oshizushi, but my FAVOURITE is definitely the torched scallop sushi… so juicy, so flavourful!!!! Both are part of their torched sushi tray… worth the try!!!

Great karaoke experience for open mic karaoke, always fun with parties, and a bit of a rarity in Toronto at the moment. The drink prices are fairly reasonable, which makes it an easy call for a regular karaoke spot!

Over half of the bar staff serving us were brand new. Like I'm almost certain it was their first day ever serving alcohol. (He didn't know what Jaeger was) Which would be somewhat acceptable if it wasn't an event that they accidentally double booked us for and moved the date on us. One of three bartenders that knew what they're doing is a ridiculous ratio. And the only experienced bartender spent the second half of the night VERY OBVIOUSLY deleting the whole karaoke song queue for a song that he wanted to sing by himself or sing with his friends while his buddy played drums which was patently ridiculous. The final half hour of the evening the seemingly drunk staff and their friends butted in on our event which I found totally unacceptable. If there are two mics and someone grabs one it's not an invitation for some random dude who knows the bartender to join in.The library is pretty limited for English speakers, the touch screen system is difficult and confusing, and if you select YouTube options it deletes the whole queue. Every menu item during a group event is required to be ordered with a full serving of not very good french fries. If you want food from dine and dim (which IS amazing food) you have to leave and get it yourself from downstairs. The dumplings were good but I would rather not pay for a half pound of mediocre fries. It's too bad because the sound system works well. The mics function, the smoke machine and the lighting is fun, the layout and the environment of the upstairs is great. Bathrooms are clean, the screens are in all the right places. This place has potential but the staff and their narcissism really tanked our evening.

Got double booked by these dweebs. We were flexible and moved the date. Then around midnight their staff started taking over, skipping over the songs we chose, playing a drum kit badly, hogging the mics. Owner/bartender was drunk. There are better karaoke bars that have their stuff together. This place would be great if the owner wasn't such an air head and valued the customer.

I really wanted to enjoy this new place seeing the positive reviews and photos, but the sushi rice was awfully hard for the maki and nigiri when we received our lunch order. The maki had way too much rice when the image reference had shown more of a 1:1 ratio as the traditional maki is done. The sashimi was thickly cut and seemed fresh, while the oshizushi was flavourful, but after having the tuna maki - and seeing the rice - I couldn't help but think all the toppings were just used to mask the old rice. I don't mind too much rice with my sushi, but it has to be fresh at the very least!Wasabi was also given in abundance, but based on the different colour on the outside and inside, we knew it wasn't very fresh either... All of these cues just left our stomachs feeling off for the rest of the day.I would recommend this place for the sashimi and to satisfy an oshizushi craving, but I can't really vouch on anything else.

Couldn't figure out how to select songs. Didn't have a lot of common songs but them would have other random stuff. Room was nice and the experience was good otherwise.

We decided to check out Tenjin Karaoke spontaneously one night while walking home and are extremely happy we found this gem of a place. We've returned multiple times ever since and have recommended it to many friends for birthday outings or just a night out.  Always a fun atmosphere with reasonably priced drinks and some of the friendliest staff/owner. For nights where you want to go out to something more than a regular bar but not to a club, Tenjin's the perspect spot to visit. We definitely needed a venue like this in the east end.

Great decor and look but we didn’t have a good experience here. They mishandled our booking and we had to select another night and manage the confusion that went along with it. As the evening went on, the owners took over gradually and started selecting their own tunes for their personal enjoyment - it was also clear they had been drinking too. My partner had words with one of them and he was rude and belligerent. She was patronized and treated poorly after we had filled the space and ran up a big tab. Ridiculous guys - time to reevaluate your idea of professionalism. So many elements here to make this a great karaoke haunt including a fog machine and live drums, but the song selection is weak and the treatment of my wife really put me off. Go to Bar+ instead where you’ll be treated well and the staff won’t take over your party.
