TORCH Pressed Sushi
So good!!I didn't realize that they close early or earlier than the hours listed on Yelp. When I got here, they were out of most things. And also closed. They weren't set up for dine in, rather take out atmosphere. Mostly boxes.Since I've walked from my hotel ( Park Hyatt), it was a good 25-30 minutes walk, I asked if I could dine in and get whatever they have. They let me. That was nice!Some of the food I've had!Tasting box:Torched spicy salmontorched scallopsTorched eelZesty shrimpMarinated butterfishLobster handrollToro handrollTorched eel standout as well as scallops. Everything was tasty but I enjoyed the toro handroll. I ordered, ate and left all under 15 minutes or so. It was a fast dash. Took some Togo.Food was delicious though. Next time, I'll come during the day for lunch. And hopefully before they ran out of everything so I can try more items.

Overall atmosphere isn't too noteworthy, most seating is arranged in bar stool format along the walls and one central table in the middle of the establishment, which detracts one from coming in a large group.Service was exceptionally quick, though the food was served in takeout trays despite dining indoors.The food is a bit on the pricey side, especially for the lunch bento. I will note that the matcha cheesecake is underwhelming and overpriced for the quantity they give. Additionally, when ordering any of their handrolls, it comes wrapped in plastic film which must be opened in a very specific way to prevent it from falling apart. The downside to this is that the instructions on the handroll itself are not written in English, with the graphical instructions not very clear. So, be mindful that the handrolls may prove to be a nuisance for those inexperience to opening handrolls.In short, okay food option, but unlikely to return.

The food here is great, i really like the aburi sushi as well as the share platters. The restaurant has more of a focus on take out, and is especially noticeable with how the chairs are scattered around the place. The tables were also not too clean but if you are just grab and go like what i did, then its not really an issue. We were the only customers at 2 o clock in the afternoon so it was strange that our order of a single sushi box took 15 minutes, but overall a pleasant experience and location is great.

Great idea with the tasting box. It was nicely presented with good flavours. Wish the sushi could be a bit bigger. Not a made in China packaged wasabi fan. Can't figure out how to open the lobster rolls properly and they became a mess...

Got takeout a few times. The sushi boxes are really good, the tasting box is quite the treat. Presentation is really nice and the torching adds a nice burst of flavour over your regular sushi options.Curry is also good, solid Japanese style curry. The chicken combo is the way to go. Crispy chicken and curry, together at last.Online ordering never works though

The food at this place is absolutely incredible! 10/10 recommended <3 the fish melts in your mouth, and the boxes are very filling. Absolutely worth the wait!!! I will definitely be coming here more often

TORCH Pressed Sushi
First bite on torched salmon press sushi then this place shoot straight up and landed on my top five Toronto favorite restaurants. The phenomenal salmon box #2 has the appetizing presentation, ingredients freshness, texture variety, fragrance, and in perfect portion. Highly recommend this box.Waitress is friendly and patient as I took forever to decide on my selection. The staff do chat a bit amongst themselves in their work area. Then the place is clean, but maybe the store has just received it’s shipment cause there are paper boxes laying in and around kitchen area.This place for me is a definitely worth revisiting every few weeks.
