Lusk Cave
Hiked into Lusk Cave today with my Daughter.Parked at Parent Beach parking lot.The first 4.5 km was extremely easy. You're pretty much walking down a gravel road. The last km is an actual hiking trail.Slightly uphill , but nothing to strenuous.I suggest bug spray for the last kilometer. If you have bikes you can bike from the parking lot all the way to the final km.I left my bag at the base of the final set of stairs. This is where you would exit if you did both the upper and lower section of the cave. The upper half is super easy and can pretty much do this section standing up.I'd suggest sandles or water shoes for the first section. No bathing suit. The second section you need water shoes or sandles along with a bathing suit. The lower section is much tougher than the upper section. If you're in shape neither section is really that tough.Second section consists of as few tricky foot placements. You'll need to crouch / crawl or pull yourself on your bum.At the end of the tunnel you've got brought 12 inches of breathing room for maybe 15 -20 meters so you will get wet .I was able to go through with my phone in one hand and not get it wet. With that being said , it's not a guarentee you may not slip and dunk your phone.Definitely need a headlamp or flashlight for the lower section. We absolutely loved it and went through 6 times. The water is cool and refreshing. Today was 30 degrees and we welcomed the cool water. My daughter is 9 and after her first run through she was able to do it on her own.We brought a lot of water, snack and a lunch. After we hit Parent Beach before heading home.We spent 6 hours here and it cost us $12 when we left.

This trail is for all level and it's almost flat. Though it's a loop of almost 10 kms, you barely feel tired because the pathway is wide n flat for most part of the hike. The trail goes in parallel to the lake so make sure to stop by and capture some scenic views. Now the most exciting part the caves, it's adventurous. When you go hiking, you first reach the end of the cave. You need to go up to the start of the cave and come to the exit point through the cave. The cave has midway entry and exit if someone wanna shorten their path. But believe me you need to do the entire cave as it's beautiful and adventurous. Go prepared. Make sure you have waterproof footwares, waterproof cover for your phone if you need one, headlamp is a must, swimwear, and anything else you think would be needed.Happy hiking!

It was a long way to reach the caves. The things I have seen on the way were much more impressive than the caves. They cave is small and not really worth the time to reach there. Make sure you are able to climb stairs because there are some steps to climb. We took the long way and we enjoyed lac Philippe more than the caves. I have included some pics of both

Beautiful trail and amazing experience in caves. Headlamp is strongly recommended. Bring food and water as well. It was supposed to be a sunny day but turned into heavy rain. Still we enjoyed a lot.

Nice cave at the end of a moderate trail. Good spot to chill for a little while but doesn’t have place to stay for long. A lot of mosquitos.

Lusk Cave
Very cool experience. We just went out and back instead of the loop trail. The trail to the caves was quite easy but it was not well sign-posted (thankfully we were with people who had visited a few times before!). The cave entrance was also not obvious if you have not visited before. Inside the caves was very cool. The water was freezing. We visited in mid-August and the deepest section we had about 3 between the water and the top of the cave so had to be completely submerged (this was only for about 4 feet or less). Headlamps are a must. Water shoes highly recommended. The first cave was much easier so those who don't want to swim may wish to exit after the first cave and not go through the second one. Note that the caves are closed during bat neating season."

Unfortunately lost the pictures I had from this outing. The hike to the cave was beautiful. The cave was great! Wear nonslip water shoes and quick dry clothing, you may have to swim.

It is short, but the caves were a wonderful experience. It only takes a few minutes to navigate the caves once you hike or paddle there. The paddleing on Lac Philip was beautiful and the water was warm.

I’m not a person that’ll be in nature a lot but that experience makes me want to add it in my routine. Nice and calm forest. Caves are really nice and not to scary (coming from someone that is scared of water and narrow places )

Lusk Cave
The perfect place to get in all your outdoor day-adventure needs!Take the canoe (or your choice of water craft) in to enjoy the serene lake views. If you're lucky, you might even catch an eagle sighting! On the other side of the lake is the ideal spot to drop off your boat or pause from your hike, play in the shallow beach and enjoy a snack (highly recommend something). After a little break quick canopy covered hike willl lead you to the caves - bring your water shoes and headlamps and be ready to get wet! (A helmet for the younger adventures will be a good idea as overhead rocks are sometimes hard to see and can be a bit sharp). Take your time to go through and enjoy the beautiful light streaming through the natural crevices and holes. The cave has two entrances - in the first entrance (starts further up) you can expect water up to your hips. After you poke out at the midpoint, the second entrance is only steps ahead - in this stretch you can expect water up to your head (or over!) But don't let that scare you - it's only for a few steps before you're out again. There's lots to enjoy so don't hesitate to go go through a few times!
