Encounters Wine Bar & Small Plate Kitchen
An amazing tapas bar in downtown Coleman. The service is great- you are greeted the moment you walk in. The food is delicious. I tried the Korean BBQ Pork Belly and it did not disappoint. Their Parisien hot chocolate is quite the treat! Bathrooms are clean. The tables are adequately spaced for social distancing and there is hand sanitizer. Reservations are required.

Excellent tapas restaurant with a varied and not too expensive wine and beer list.The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. It is a medium size place (around 10 tables of varying sizes).The tapas were savory and quite original. Elk meatballs, mushroom ravioli, Tuscan meatballs and 4 cheese fondue were all excellent.We didn't try any of the full size dishes.

Amazing food and service!! A very cool way to have dinner with the small plate menu. A true hidden gem of the Crowsnest pass! We are so thankful we found out about it on our travels.

One of the best meals we have had! Great variety with so many options to choose from. We forgot to call ahead for reservations, and Dawn graciously offered to open the restaurant for us. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We ate from the small plate menu, and each dish was incredibly unique and delicious with a beautiful presentation. We had 6 small plates for 3 of us - and we left very happy and full. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Dawn and her team are great! This hands down had to be some of the best food I have ever eaten. My ultimate favorite was the muscles in a white wine sauce, easily one of the best meals I've ever had! The service was fantastic, the atmosphere was great and overall a very enjoyable experience! Thank you for a wonderful time and I can't wait to come back!

We had a beautiful meal at Encounters Tapas Restaurant. Chef Drew has put his touch on well executed tapas. The BBQ short ribs were remarkable due to a perfect chimichurri sauce. The portion is small- something to note. Beef carpaccio was excellent, and a large serving for this dish. Excellent quality! We loved the gnocchi with Italian sausage- comfort food at it’s finest, and perfect quality pasta. The full size plate of Cajun steak and shrimp was a winner- excellent quality tenderloin , with a little heat to this item. I’d go back in a minute to try more of the very creative items on the menu, and plan to do so soon. I’d call this Coleman’s little gem! Well done!

We dined at this restaurant for our anniversary after hearing great things about it. We were very impressed! The ambiance was warm and inviting, the staff were friendly, and the food was amazing. We chose several small plates from the menu and the portion sizes were good. Fine dining in the Crowsnest Pass that was reasonably priced, would highly recommend!
