Capri Alterations

PLEASE DONT GO TO CAPRI ALTERATIONS!I brought my PROM dress in and it took two weeks to be hemmed (which is acceptable) however, when it was returned it was entirely water stained. From the collar to the fresh hem, there’s stains. When confronted, the woman there refused to take responsibility and blamed it on the material. I then reached out to the place I originally bought the dress and they said it is fine to steam. I now am spending even more money on dry cleaning. If the stains don’t come out I’m stuck finding an entirely new dress. I did NOT receive any compensation for my RUINED dress nor did she even offer to pay for dry cleaning. I am never returning to Capri Alterations and please don’t either!!EDIT: the “owner” (same women we originally confronted) called only after seeing my review and offered a refund as well as free alterations on my new dress. Luckily my original dress got back from the cleaners without major marks (Eco Clean on water st.). The women at Capri alterations refunded me the $120 for the hemming as well as the fee for the cleaning. She was really unprofessional about it, she refused to pay cash and kept demanding I take my review down. Happy I got my money back but definitely not pleased with the experience or customer service.

Her work is always impeccable and timely. I have used her for years and she is always professional and very respectful. When my daughter was here recently and needed something completed overnight she hesitated but then agreed and did us this great favour!

Jessica is the best!!! She does such a good job every time. The price is amazing and she is so sweet and professional. Love this place for alterations!!

I went in to get holes in the thighs of my jeans patched up. I specifically asked for the smallest patches I could get as I really don't like the feeling of extra fabric between my thighs. I went in to pick up the jeans today and not only were there giant patches, but they were folded and sown ever, sticky side towards the skin and the stiches are extremely visible all the way up my butt cheeks. You don't have to be an experienced seamstress to see that this is really sloppy work. I am really disappointed that I spent $60 to destroy my jeans.

Great service. Really fast and professional- was able to do the job faster with no extra charge. Hem looks brilliant. Owner is great. Great price too- only $22 to get two pairs of pants hemmed. would definitely recommend.

I was in the area and had a tear in my dress that needed to be repaired ASAP. I called a few places nearby, and Capri Alterations was the only place able to squeeze me in, as I would have sewed it myself if I lived in the area. It was a quick fix, and less than $30, which I would have gladly paid more as I needed the alteration done. What a life saver!

My sister in law brought her dress here to get altered for prom, when she got it back, there were a ton of water marks on it that the seamstress refused to take credit for. I called multiple times to complain about this to the company, with no call ever being picked up. Eventually, everyone started writing negative reviews on google about the service.Once these reviews were seen, they called her right away and said they would pay for the dry cleaning on the dress, and help with costs if it didn’t come out. Luckily most of the stains came out, so she can still wear the dress on Monday to prom.It is understandable that things happen and mistakes are made. In any business these things can happen. However, the dress is not the main concern. The lack of accountability from the seamstress, and the fact that we had to leave consistent negative reviews to have action taken is concerning to me as someone who works in the customer service industry. Even though it is rarely my fault, I have to rectify situations like this at work all the time, and know how it should be handled. The work done by the company was done well, but they need to readdress their policies, especially when they are in fact in the wrong.That being said, I hope the company has learned from this customer service mistake and can move forward from our incident. This whole endeavour could have been fixed with an apology and a promise to make it right, and would’ve saved my SIL and the family from a panicked and stress filled week, and saved Capri Alterations from a lot of negative reviews.

I went in with an emergency and asked if I could get a few last minute alterations right before she closed the store. She was very understanding and helped me out. It was $5 extra but she was upfront and honest which I really appreciated. Also, Google Maps seems to think the business is on Ethel; it’s not. It’s in the mini mall.Thanks again, Jessica!!

I went here to get my jean skirt shortened and the lady told me it would be “too hard” to cut the skirt and run the machine along the end. She said she could only fold it under, which seems far more complicated to me. So I left and took my business to someone else who did it no problem.
