AquaMermaid Toronto

They did not show up for a children's birthday party we pre-paid for. No communication to even tell us they weren't going to show up! No one to answer the call when trying to reach out to them, no one to provide any answers as to why they did not show up!! Unprofessional and disappointing, especially when they were to show up for a kids birthday party!

I love the services Aqua Mermaid offers. Definitely lots of fun and good exercise. The downside to Aqua Mermaid is that they often cancel their classes. I have been informed by Aqua Mermaid that they no longer offer services in Toronto. Very sad.

I had such an amazing experience swimming as a mermaid for the 1st time! The team was really friendly and professional. I will be back for sure :)

If 0 stars existed, this would be that.Aquamermaid hires random mermaids in your area for birthday party and other gigs. Many of these mermaids get under cut, don't get paid, and learn the client is given false expectations. If you want a mermaid for your party, don't use Aquamermaid!!!

My 16-year-old daughter joined her first AquaMermaid class in Toronto with Marielle last weekend. She was so excited to meet her hero, after having watched so many of Marielle's amazing mermaid tutorials on YouTube! The class was so much fun, tailored to many different levels, and with a super positive, inclusive approach. As soon as we left, she asked to go back! Thank you Marielle for making her feel so welcome and for creating this space for mermaids to come, learn, and play together! :)

Aquamermaid somehow got my email, and sent me a series of weird recruitment emails with completely uncensored private addresses of her clients. She does not know who I am or anything about me, yet she clearly hands out people’s personal private info to freelance performers without vetting any of them first. This is extremely inappropriate and unsafe, and I do not recommend working with this company.

I took my 8-yr-old daughter and niece for a lesson. Went to this location first then I was sent uptown to a community center. No one in the community center knew anything about such lessons. After finally getting through to a staff member from Aquamermaid- I was told someone would be waiting in the change room (they were actually already on deck). These instructions were not given when I registered. The kids proceeded to participate in their “class” during a scheduled recreational swim held by the community center. During this time they were frequently interrupted by other swimmers. I was not allowed on deck to take the pictures during the last ten minutes as specified and I had to give my phone to the instructors. These lessons are definitely not as advertised and although the kids had a good time, it was absolutely not worth the amount of money and time.

I’m quite sick of the scams and underpaying. Not sure how this business is still around. Unprofessional, and dangerous (ie- putting children in tails with intention for swimming, no training or certifications or bronze medal). Safety should always be number1 when dealing with children.
