Really cool old fort right in the main tourism hub. You have to pay for the guide because it’s an active military base. Our guilds in English was great! Just about 1 hour in length, if that. Be warned, it’s almost entirely outdoors… if you’re going in winter, dress for it!

An active military base with historic buildings. Since it is an active base, there are uniformed personnel. Has an ongoing construction at the entrance, watch out for the signs, it is confusing. Has an entrance fee. Has a guided tour in english. Does have an artillery fire at the end. Has a museum for Canada military history and contributions. Not really amazed except from the view it provides giving a clear view of the lake and its surroundings. Accepts credit and debit. Has a parking space, cafeteria and souvenir shop

An impressive location with a long and interesting history! We took the guided tour with Sarah, who was knowledgeable and well-spoken. Loved the chance to see the structure and learn about how a citadel works. At the end, we got to see the year's first marching band performance, which was impressive and entertaining.Definitely worth a visit!

Place very rich in history. It is mostly focused on the 22nd Regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces but they have lots of exhibits about the history of the Citadel. The guided tour is very informative. Plus a great view of the city.

A must go if you are in Quebec city. There is a lot of history here. The entrance is hard to find but once you make it in you're transported back in time. The guards and bare skin hats are on century and you can see them fire off a cannon everyday at noon. The museum where you buy tickets gives you a nice background on the citadel but the tour led by wonderful staff is definitely the highlight. Our tour guide was informative and very funny. Make sure you get free tickets to tour the governor general's quarters after your main tour. It is definitely worth going to see. We were lucky enough to only be in a group of three people.

Neatly maintained and ample parking available. The guided tour was very informative and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in a bit of history. The tour takes about an hour. There is a two hour parking limit so people can take a walk around the areas of the Citadel post guided tour.

Loved our visit here. For a ticket, you get a guided tour and they explain key areas with many chances to ask questions. Joël (?) was our tour guide. He did the tour in English for us and it was lovely. We had a great time and learned a lot. They also have a museum and gift shop inside. At noon they blast a cannon. Would recommend taking your children to the bathroom just before the tour begins as you have to follow the tour guide and there are no bathrooms during the hour tour. Also not super stroller friendly in some areas. Lots of opportunities for beautiful pictures.

Very interesting museum and still an active military establishment. The views are incredible.Plan ample amounts of time to visit the museum and go all the way to the end to see the medal room. Very impressive. The tour is pretty fast and the stops in the little sub-museum spaces were a little too fast to get the opportunity to read the signs. It's located at the top of a rather steep hill. There were steps so I wouldn't recommend going with wheels (although the museum does have ramps) .Toilets are at the back of the museum. The little gift shop has Interesting toys and souvenirs.

This historic citadel is still an active military base of the Canadian army. I recommend you book the guided tour in advance before visiting the place. Our tour guide was kind and knowledgeable. Knowing the history of the fortress and how strategically designed the citadel was interesting a lot. There's also a small museum that tells the full history of the fortress next to the ticketing office. The view of Quebec was also amazing!

Informative tour offered in English and French. We took the tour of the military side, but they do offer a tour covering the government side as well. The docent was well informed and shared a great deal of history with us. A good walking tour of about an hour. After the tour, you can visit the museum and then walk around the outer walls for fabulous views of the river and city.
