The Bates Motel Experience3 people for 3 nights (1000$)The pull out bed was ALL WIRES. The mattress is old and there is no cushion to it. When complained Ingrid yelled and screamed at my husband.wobbly fansNO TOILETRIES- there was 1/2 bottle of bodywash and shampoo shared between guestsDeck furniture was old and falling apart ( unsafe)View of the highway and a small view of water.clogging toiletThere are SO MANY other places to stay- do not stay hereWe left on our third day- did not care about the money. Did not feel safe with the hotel manager- unstable and aggressive. Be aware of Surge. He is very polite when you check in but as soon as there is a problem he is scary.( this email name is not the booking name )

old dated rooms, metal coming through mattress, shared shampoo and soap with other guests, strong smeel of mold, visible black mold. The managers are verbally abusive and scammers. Everything is fine until you have a complaint. Reported to BBB and consumer affairs.

Not my first - and definitely not the last time at this cozy and charming place! Very welcoming and caring hosts, amazing old Victorian style building, cozy rooms, tasty meals! Highly recommended if you want to escape from your routine or take a beak from a noisy town. The hotel is very well thought, and the owners are always ready to help you with anything you might need.

Booked this last minute, arrived a few hours before sunset. Super close to the beach which was amazing. Our room was #1 and it was charming. Walls are a bit thin and the windows wobbly but when you can go to bed hearing the waves...what could be better. Breakfast could happen if you organized it in your room, we didn't but the young guy at the front made us coffee and that was great! Thanks for the great night.

We loved our stay here! The location is amazing, just across from Queensland beach with ocean warm enough for swimming even at the beginning of July. We slept in one of the smaller rooms (no 1) and we slept well! Yes, room was on a cozy side, but we knew that when we booked and it had everything we needed! We cycled there on Rum Runners trail which is just behind this hotel and super convenient. We hope to come back soon. Thanks for great service, too!

Awesome experience! Rooms are unique with lots of character! The honeymoon suite was beautiful and the hot tub was very nice. The food was amazing. The best bread pudding I have ever had. Even the coffee is awesome. Lots of attention to details and attention paid to us to make sure our stay was exceptional!

Beautiful welcoming friendly Victorian style hotel full of antique furnishing. Comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a piping hot and delicious omelete served in an elegant dining room full of antiques.

Let me start by saying the location is absolutely fantastic. The Inn is located across one of the nicest stretches of beach. We travelled 14 hrs from Ontario to get there. We called in advance to advise we were arriving around 8. From the outside it was so lovely. But then we go in, the stern owner doesn't even greet you. 3 words were spoken to us: sanitize, name and sign. I was shocked. No other form of check in. We were exhausted so asked where we could get some food. He shrugs his shoulders saying to us 'Times have changed, don't know' then he said to check a cafe down the road. Fortunately we found a lovely place to eat where the locals were helpful and knowledgeable. We also saw a call came in and he answered so rudely ' call back I'm busy'. We were shocked by the rudeness. Our room was the worst surprise though On the website is sold as a romantic Victorian style room. The room feels like a cluttered closet with the furniture your grandma would not want. All the windows were open and only later we understood it was because of the musty mouldy smell. Another review mentioned it but unfortunately we did not pay attention to the recent reviews and the response from the owner instead of being apologetic tried to discredit the person writing the review. We should have known the . The smell was unbearable. Everything was very old and uncared for. The bathtub/shower was discoloured and marked and the shower head had calcar and the flow of water was bad. We had an issue with the keys and closing the door and we spoke to the owner who schooled my husband on how to lock it. My husband was livid but after such a long day we just wanted to eat and go to bed. We asked if breakfast was included and the answer was the same: 'times have changed' but then he advised he places a communal pot of coffee downstairs for everyone to use (what about COVID protocols now?!) and he says he charged for breakfast. We never ate there not because of the charge but because of the rudeness of the owner. We do not drink coffee. My husband was parched the next day and he had a sip just because there's no water nor coffee /tea in the room. No toiletries just left over shower gels from possibly other guests? not even the basic facilities of a motel can be found here. The place could be an absolute gem but you can tell the owners do not care, they try to be as cheap as possible because 'times have changed'. We have been to 3/4 other inns/motels during our travel this past couple of weeks also family ran and despite the times have changed we have always been greeted nicely and the basics were provided. Also being nice doesn't cost a thing. Unfortunately this was our longest stay, 4 nights and it didn't come cheap! after that first night and briefly in the AM never seen the owner again, completely absent and I understand times have changed, but instead of leaving clean towels after 2 days sitting outside our door with no message, he could have left a message as the check-in was inexistent and we didn't even know what their protocols were and whether those towels were for us.. Again we felt unwanted guests and couldn't wait to leave. I read another review of another couple that decided to leave to go somewhere else but after spending 650CAD we stayed and didn't want the hassle. I wanted to speak to him about the stay but never seen him again until check out and we had to ring several times before he even appeared. Only positive thing is that I forgot a diary in the room when we left and when I returned to get it back, it was given to me. Unless a change of ownership, I would truly not recommend this place to anyone.

Clean room, comfy bed. We had a small room with a window air conditioner. Had to walk upstairs to our room but managed fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice location to the beach.
