This was my first time in this museum and I would have to say it's worth the trip to look around. But there one thing missing..... Exhibit number 9 or display case 9. Over all, it was a good place to visit.

Very well laid-out for a regional museum, with a permanent exhibit collection that more than adequately tells the story of Kenora, and the towns which amalgamated to create Kenora. Each summer when we visit there is always an incredibly well curated seasonal exhibit that expands on the local story with particular focus (we've seen Residential Schools, Jingle Dresses, Cartography, Float Planes--the list goes on)--and those seasonal exhibits are well worth the return visit. Well-informed staff who are ready to answer question, and an excellent paper guide can help you experience even more from the permanent collection. The museum also offers a scavenger hunt for children of reading age which we all enjoyed. New--and right next door--is an impressively designed gallery with the same thoughtful permanent collection and seasonal exhibit programme as the main museum. I would say it's a great rainy day excursion--but I never feel regret spending an hour at The Muse, even on a sunny day! It's a must-stop for us each summer.

The museum is so great and I recommend everyone to check it out. It has displays on the First Nations of the area, and the settlers that came after. It's set up with three levels, and you make your way further down then take a ramp back up.It was a great experience to learn more about Kenora and their community!

The staff is so great, so friendly, so involved in their work! And the museum is really great to understand how a Canadian community can grow, and why it can also decrease. This is an amazing place, for Canadians and foreigners.

Liked our afternoon there last weekend with my 6 & 9 year old. Some neat stuff to see and lots of really impressive beading/indigenous art to see which I really liked. The only thing I would say is that I think they could add some interactive exhibits. There wasn't much to do except walk through and it took us only 30-40 mins. Nice quick activity.

Everything was great. Except for one staff member. But otherwise, yeah, great museum, and the art Gallery was exceptional.

Very cute little museum. I liked going here and learning about the community. Well done, very affordable admission. Worthwhile for price paid I would say.

We rented the One Gallery (upper gallery) at the Douglas Family Art Centre for a Celebration of Life event. The manager and curators at the Centre were exceptional in their support for our event. Setup and AV equipment were topnotch. Since the person's whose life we were celebrating was also an artist, the setting was perfect. The Centre's unique space and professional staff truly helped us achieve the celebration we hoped for.

This beautiful museum is the perfect size to get through within a couple of hours or less - which is nice, because you can only absorb so much at at time. You can pick up an i-pad for a self guided, detailed tour/information on the exhibits or just wander through, reading the plaques on your own. There is always a featured exhibit right across from the front desk and a lovely little gift shop with a wonderful selection of books on the local area as well as quality children's and gift items. Lake of the Woods and Kenora are full of history, this is a wonderful place to gain a better appreciation for this special part of the world.
