Dealing with the front desk makes me want to admit myself to a crisis centre. Ironic.

Terrible experiences here in such a way where they will not help me, postpone appointment, send me elsewhere. I am 22 and was a CCO (continuing custody order) with MCFD from the age of 4 years old, I continued on to be a street kid along the hastings and granville strip, battled addiction and all of that good stuff. The foundry is supposed to feel safe for folks like myself but instead I feel shut up and hurt by folks who are supposedly there for youth like myself. The workers seem uninterested and lacking empathy of compassion for clients. I feel this location should have more folks behind desks with LIVED EXPERIENCE, and not just a diploma because it really shows in energy and how I feel after trying my hardest to articulate needing to see a doctor, yet still being shut down.

Front desk staff were super snotty and actually turned me away when I reached out for help with addiction, because they didn't have enough time at 12 in the afternoon. I came back at a couple of different times to make sure I wasn't over reacting - same story. As a place that bills itself as refuge for inner city youth this really doesn't cut it. - Sorry, not sorry.

foundry has been a life saver for me because of how difficult it is to find a family doctor in bc. the transcare team is amazing too. foundry needs more mental health support other than groups though. its so hard to find a therapist and the ministry is useless. more one on one counsellors/support is needed for those in crisis.

This place is amazing! The people are friendly and wonderful, made me feel super comfortable. They were calm and collected, and the whole place is very welcoming.

It's impossible to find a family doctor in Vancouver so foundry really saved my life, being able to access healthcare services as a student for free is amazing

Happened a while back but I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a mental health centre, and ended up feeling like I needed crisis intervention the way I was treated here. I went here in serious crisis over a particular symptom I was having, and had the Access and Assessment centre treat me inappropriately on the basis of being trans and I thought Foundry would be a safe place as they presented themselves as such.I explained to the person who did my intake why I didn’t want to go back to my previous provider, and then explained my symptom and struggles with it and to get treatment. During the conversation I started crying at a certain point because of how badly I was feeling and he laughed at me. I’ve honestly never had someone kick me when I was down like that, it’s definitely the most dehumanizing experience I’ve had with any mental health professional. And in the end they told me to go back to Access and Assessment because I had no reason to switch providers, I hope Foundry has improved since I’ve had this experience, but based on the reviews below they need to stop marketing themselves as a trans friendly organization if they can’t cover all their bases.

This place offers a range of services for free. Very professional and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

this organization is genuinely the worst. don’t you dare call them in crisis or they will slam a door in your face, even with a referral they have slammed another in my face 9 months from when i began trying to access their services. Which i have accessed exactly none of.
