I had Valco (Covexco) do renovations for me in my condo. Reviews looked good so I thought I'd try him.In the end it was the worst mistake of my life. His reviews prior to this are all for exterior jobs, decks, ice rinks etc. Maybe that explains it.He has an accent which makes it hard to understand him, and maybe he didn't understand me either.Valco does not like his ideas challenged. Perhaps especially by a woman.Valco does not listen and buys what he wants. Later says its too late to return.He re-built my bookcases without showing sketches. I had 5 sections all open with cupboards at the bottom. Now I have 4 sections all closed in with thin doors. Too late to fix.Installed pot lights in glass front cupboards with wooden shelves. I had asked for LED strips around doors! Even sent photos! Too late to replace.He used stereo wire for under cabinet pot lights again, and no valance to hide the open wires in back.He put in hardwood in the guest room that doesn't match the rest of the condo, not even close. Thats why I wanted it done!He bought in a new shower door exactly the same as the old style I was replacing! Left it laying in the bathroom uninstalled for weeks. Too late to exchange.He built a box for the wall oven without measuring and the oven doesn't fit. When the door opens it hits drawer handles. And it has to be jousted up on one side in order to be screwed in place. It's crooked!He installed a quartz countertop which is split and dropped because he said it had to be that way. It didn't.He installed inferior kitchen plumbing which caused a flood and a $900 bill for new plumbing.He missed a needed extra wall outlet for the cooktop. Another $900.He installed heavy deep cupboards right on the countertop instead of wall mounted which I had asked for. When I questioned it HE QUIT!I so much wanted this work done that I even asked him to come back. I apologized for any misunderstanding. I knew there were mistakes but I had no idea. He did not respond. Stony silence. Only sent me another bill.It was only after he quit that I had the flood and the plumbing had to be replaced, and then we discovered the oven didn't fit. It was endless. I am sure now that's why he left. He knew.It took me until late fall to find people to repair and replace his shoddy work.DO NOT USE COVEXCO FOR RENOVATIONSSave yourself no end of pain.

From beginning to end it was a pleasure working with Val. Val has completed many projects for our family over the years and has never disappointed us in delivering superior workmanship with every project. Recently he completed a garden house for our family with amazing design and finishes. We love it. Val is an excellent carpenter his measurements are bang on and every tradesman that works after him love his workmanship. Another great skill Val has is precisely ordering material I always have very little waste at the end of jobs. Most importantly we pass building inspections all the time without the need for fixes. I have referred Val to family friends who are also pleased with his services. He is punctual which is a great quality in a contractor and Val always keeps his word as well. Thanks again for everything Val. See you on the next project next summer!

If you are looking for a company that is versatile, dependable, has great work quality, and worth every dollar, you have come to the right place. Val has built me a Pergola on my deck ( he personally designed it and cut the designs in the wood pieces as well). He also built me a ground level deck which this summer will become a screened in porch. Val is in the process of finishing my basement and has some great ideas for my stairs and ceiling designs.
