Once Upon A Child

The staff is rude! I walked in and no one greeted me. Didn't even look up and there were 4 of them standing by the cash registers. The lady that came in behind me was greeted and told about a sale they were having. Once I found what I was looking for, I went to pay, there was no one in line and again no one acknowledged me. A manager (seemed to be a manager) walked by and noticed me and she told them to ring me through. No hello"

My first time going was an alright experience. I was shocked by some of the items they returned to me (name brand and never used). I was shocked they took a top but not the bottoms to a set outfit, again something never worn and name brand.I don’t get how they decide what to take and what not to from my experience today. I was told something about “out of date” items in my pile. My pile consisted of only NB items, purchased at the latest in Oct 2021 as my baby was born in Nov 2021. They did take my Christmas onesies though so I don’t understand the “out of date” comment.I noticed a lot of people bringing things in diaper boxes and trash bags which was unappealing. I made sure to only bring in never/lightly used clothes in a brand new clear tote purchased the same day.Staff was very friendly. I made $16 so next time I might just donate to the Women’s Shelter etc.

Their clearance sale prices are good. That’s why they get one star.However, the regular priced items are often more money than clothes you can buy brand new and delivered to your door.Also, my 4-year-old daughter had to use the washroom so I asked the woman and she said that they don’t have a washroom available to customers. It suddenly got very urgent for my daughter and I said that she might have an accident in her pants and the woman referred me to the McDonald’s across the street. I wonder if McDonald’s knows that they’re sending all of their customers over to their washrooms to use without buying food? Not sure, I may call the McDonald’s to find out. Regardless, you would think that a CHILDREN’S store would let a child use the washroom when they’re about to pee their pants. Embarrassing for this business and I hope others read this review and choose to take their business elsewhere.

This place has really gone down hill it’s practically a joke. I had a brand new shirt that had only been worn once and they wouldn’t take it because it was too well loved. Not a single mark or wear on it! Way too picky about stuff! And what they give you back for items you bring in is laughable!

Seems that the items are bit over priced considering the items are used. However the store is having lots and lots dresses and footwear. It takes around 45 mins to 1 hour to finish looking through the dresses for the kids. The staffs too are friendly.

Brought in 10 boxes of gently used / unused clothing and they only bought 35 items. No where did it say on the website or video on selling items that only clothes that were purchased within the past 2 years would be accepted (not sure how this was proved). I'm quite disappointed in the lack of transparency on items to be purchased. We took clothes out of our sorted-by-size bags into the boxes per requirements by the store, and now have to resort everything to sell somewhere else. The only good thing are the cheap toys available.

Sometimes you can find great deals - other times you find clothing priced higher than the original tag on the item. Most recently I purchased a sorting toy that was bagged up so I couldn’t inspect it. Got home and noticed that several of the pieces are for a different toy and do not fit, as well as missing some of the original things. Several of the shapes have wear marks like they were chewed and I had to scrub crayon/marker off of them.In photo, the larger purple half circle and triangle do not fit in any of the holes as well as another piece. It’s also missing the diamond and star shape pieces.

I brought in so much of my stuff to sell. A lot of it wasn’t what they were in need of. No problem. BUT when they sorted all through it they put everything back into the bins in an absolute abhorrent mess to the point where my neatly folded bins were a disaster that I couldn’t even put the lid back onto. Would NOT recommend. Clearly have no worries about taking care of things that aren’t theirs. The only neatly folded items were the ones they wanted to keep to sell. Like backwards much. You only care about what has value to YOU but all MY things that you would like me to take back home with me are made a mess of and disrespected.Very unprofessional. Very disappointed. Won’t be returning

There's no rhyme or reason for clothes they take and pass up on. I dropped off 3 boxes of newer, good condition, snd washed items. They passed on everything. But had no real reason to tell me why they did. One item I pulled to ask them why had the price tag still on. Yet when I go in to purchase items I pass up in some because they are so faded and worn looking. I'll never bring stuff in to sell and will never purchase from them again.

I have been a long time shopper/seller. I have always been greeted by friendly staff member's. They pay special attention to the quality of clothes they are purchasing so you know your getting a great deal when you shop there. Love the London store!!
