Al Salam Halal Meat & Grocery

I stopped buying meats from this place. Owner/manager has a weird way to communicate with customers. He's an ego issue or anger problem. I phone him few times before, asking If I could come get some chicken. I called around 6;15pm. He said sorry we are closed. but when I said google shows your business is open till 7pm. He said we need 30mins to clean our machines. Last year I was in his store asking the butcher to make me extra lean ground beef. He's standing in the corner commenting that I shouldn't get extra lean, some fat is better. I also heard him scolding at the workers while customers are in the store. Disrespecting employees in front of customers is evil. One day I phoned to inquire about price for beef. He goes, I don't give prices over the phone. I called the store nearby, he gave me all the prices. I've found a better shop in burnaby. Nice service, and quality meats. Just a suggestion; hire someone with better communication skills you'll get more business.

I went out on a limb to make a lamb tagine dish for the 1st time and thus needed pieces of lamb meat. The butcher recommended that I use lamb shoulder because it was most tender. I agreed and he cut it into pieces sized appropriately for lamb tagine.The dish turned out great and so the next time I need cut-up lamb pieces, I will be back.

No proper shelving and price tags. Most of the shelved products are EXPIRED. It smells bad inside. Too narrow spaces to move. Higher prices overall. Completely unprofessional management. Trying to sweep all mistakes under the halal and brother

I have no issues with their meat, but their customer service is terrible. Yes, it was very close to closing time when I called to confirm if I could purchase some goat meat for curry. I had the option of going to another butchers, but went because of the assurance I was given. But, guess what, they said they can’t dice the meat!! Worst part is the guy who answered the call simply denied.. Poor, very poor customer service. Not coming back for what it is worth. Not recommended at all.

Most of the products are expired! Most of the metal packing are damaged for dairy products. Smell is not pleasant in store. Be very careful with products, you can easily be poisoned by expired products! We will never go to this shop again.

This shop is near to my house and I always go there for fresh meat.. Their WHOLE WHEAT PITA and other Fresh Tandoori Naan BREADS go well with our INDIAN Style curries.. Owner is polite and helps in suggesting the items.. He knows many things about my country and BOLLYWOOD which makes me feel proud and I feel like I am buying from my country's neighbors Kiraana store.. .. Blessed to have them around..THANKS a LOT.

One of the best Halal meat shops in Vancouver-Burnaby area. Meats are fresh and the staffs are very good with the customers.

Most of their grocery products are expired and we got used to that. But what I experienced today is a deep even for me. The tomato paste box has mold on its inner seal! I checked the expiration date, no problem, freshly prepared. Either logistics or storage conditions were the problem I guess. This store is terribly operated I believe.

It was my first time going there. The store is slightly big compared to other halal places I’ve been to, it has two floors and includes everything. You can get your meat and also shop for mediterranean food, canned food, spices and frozen food in the upper level. They also sell some kitchen tools/ housewares!I had good customer service experience, the staff was friendly and helpful.
