Costco Pharmacy

I have been member of Costco since it opened. I love shopping at Costco and their products. Today I was absolutely offended by the pharmacist that ‘helped’ me. She was not only rude but unprofessional. I definitely will not be filling my prescriptions at this location anymore. What ever happened to professional code of conduct. I am positive that the College of Pharmacy or The Pharmacist Association mades an oath to serve their clients with respect and dignity. ‘A pharmacist is dedicated to protecting the dignity of the patient.’ I feel absolutely violated as a Canadian citizen. Things like that this should not occur. This pharmacist did not protect my dignity or even showed any remorse. She showed defamation of character through innuendos which was very much not appreciated. Canada has a defamation law. Costco might want educate their workers of the practices that go along side of what defamation of character is.

I phoned the pharmacist on May 10th in the morning to get two prescription sent into my doctor for renewal in order to pick up on May 11th. I have done this many times before with no issue. May 11th I drop my girlfriend off at Costco to get my prescription and her shopping done. I went to do other things around town as we live outside of the city and only make the trip into town a couple times a month. I pick her up and she says the pharmacy needed another 40mins as they hadn't gotten the prescription ready yet. wedrove around town to waste time and then headed back to Costco. When we get to the pharmacy, they only had one out of my two prescriptions ready even after my girlfriend confirmed before she left the store that there were two needing to be refilled and the names were confirmed. When I asked about my second prescription the pharmacy manager became very defensive and started to blame my doctor for an error stating they sent a fax to him requesting my two prescriptions be renewed and he must have sent back a renewal for one correct prescription and one incorrect prescription. I suggested that they should confirm the information faxed matches the information they received back and once again they became defensive about that process and not having enough space to store all of the paperwork from the faxes if they were to confirm everything. I ended up taking the one correct prescription. When I got home the one prescription I did get had all the information labeled on it from a totally different prescription I didnt renew that day. Good thing I have had these prescription for 20 years and I know better. Had this been someone's first or second time with this prescription could of been a bad scenario ask me how I know.

I have been getting my prescriptions filled monthly for several years. I have found the pharmacy staff to be very professional, friendly and accommodating. My prescriptions are always correct and always ready when they are supposed to be. They are cheaper than at my previous drug store.

Stuff isn’t ready when told it would be and some things they are out of stock. Things anywhere carries. Unreal.

I have always found staff to be professional and very helpful. On line ordering is very easy once set up as well and prices are excellent when comparing to opposition pharmacies.Yes they are always busy and to me that’s a good thing. A person just needs to pre plan accordingly. 5 stars to the Costco and the pharmacy from my many many years of Costco experiences!!

Insolent pushers of a generic brand which is advertised all over their pharmacy packaging. For my prescription the cost was the same as the original brand AND doesn't work as well! If I'm paying $200 I want the brand that I requested and the note on my file to be followed! The manager didn't have the decency to call back, as promised. I'm fed up paying for an inferior medication that doesn't work for me. They refuse to do anything about it and treat me with disdain for expecting them to provide the correct medication. How ridiculous of me! Once again I'm stuck with this medication with no recourse and it's infuriating!Btw, I don't have this problem with the other Costco location on Market Dr. Not even once did they do this over the course of several years.Just this location, for some reason.

Costco Pharmacy is awesome, I always order online and it amazes me how fast my orders come, and I live in the next city!! Their dispensing fee is a FRACTION of what everyone elses is, and you pay that on EVERY prescription!! I think its $4 and another big name pharmacy is OVER $11, and that's added on to each and every prescription!! The actual prescription itself is cheaper , as well, I love it!! Thanks again Costco!!

Made us wait an hour and a half for a simple RX they had over a week to fill.

Booked in for Friday May 14, 2021 to receive my first Pfizer COVID - 19 vaccine. What a horrendous experience. No clarification on whether you’re to stand in line or go directly to pharmacy. Usual rude Costco shoppers are extra pushy and impatient(during COVID protocol) and store management will do nothing to quell this behaviour. There needs to be clear direction for non members(and I am a member) who are unfamiliar with the store and the process that is signature to Costco. Save your time and sanity and GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR SHOT.

I like the lower dispensing fees and the staff have been very good, but their system for receiving prescription renewals via fax, from doctors offices(I've checked with several clinics) is absolute garbage! With perhaps one out of 15 attempts being successful. This requires me to drive 45 mins to my doctor to pick up my prescription, then drive across the city, hand it to the pharmacist and wait for them to refill it. Management is well aware of this issue but rather than fix this glitch they attempt to blame the doctors office. As mentioned, I've talked to several clinics that have the same issue so obviously the manager and the IT dept. Are useless and unconcerned.
