This is the best spot in Montreal that you can eat authentic Taiwanese street food. Amazing stinky tofu, pork intestines noodles soup, popcorn chicken and green onion pancakes! Love their black sugar flavored bubbles/pearls/tapioca balls as well, chewy and seasoned with nice sweetness!

I simply loved the food at this place! I never been to Taiwan so I can't tell but the flavor profile I liked. So the rib dish main course was one of my favourites, the salted egg and friedness was just perfect for me. The sandwich was also a hit. I mean that was a great mixture. Taro and pork Floss? It was creamy and butter. The drink was okay, too sugary, but I'm different, I don't like Sugar. All in all had a good time. Seat were comfy too.Stinky tofu wasn't as stinky but tasty. :), and if you didn't eat with sauce it tasted fermented. you have to mix it.

Updated: 3 stars for both experience. We ordered beef noodles and stinky tofu. Beef noodles has three small pieces of meat as you can see in the picture. They sell 13.99$ for this amount of meat. This is such a rip off. Stinky tofu was okay, but also overpriced. Don’t expect too much from this Taiwanese restaurant. It’s just average food you can get in any Asian restaurants.4 stars for supporting Taiwanese local business.I love how they fried the Taiwanese fried chicken combo. It makes me feel like I’m in Taiwan having an after school snack. 5/5The pork meat ball soup was authentic and the broth was nostalgic, and the 草仔棵 was good. It tasted like my grandma’s. 5/5However, I was really disappointed that they didn’t have any stinky tofu. I came right before supper, this was the main reason I came. The Danzai noodles were bland and undercooked. It tasted like they were cooking the noodles in soup broth. The soup turned out slimey. 1/5The Taiwanese udon pot was not as advertised. There was no oyster/spicy sauce on top. 2/5Finally the shaved ice was also a disappointment, instead of covering the shaved ice with milk we found all of it at the bottom of the bowl. 2/5

Love that there is finally a Taiwanese inspired restaurant near downtown Montreal! The prices as people mentioned are a bit high but you will definitely find dishes here that you can’t easily find elsewhere in the area (not yet anyways). The stinky tofu is a must to try …and yes, it is not for the faint of heart. There is also a good selection of yummy rice dishes with Taiwanese sausage, braised pork, fried pork chops, etc.

First time having stinky tofu, was underwhelmed of its flavour and smell (admittedly, having smelled it in Hong Kong several times many years ago, I was too chicken to try it there). The popcorn chicken had the most flavour; the 3-cup chicken (no pic), not so much. The oyster omelette were 2 limp oily crepes for $14. For those price mark-up, you still had to order at the counter and ask for your plates to share.

Some of the dishes reminded me of real Taiwanese food. However, the portions for the tapas (in the street food section )are really really small and prices high for what you get. As you can see on the picture, the snack fried mixte plate that cost 13,99$ was mostly fries (80%).We also took taiwanese sausage with rice which was good and decent portion and the fried marinated pork chop rice which was not Taiwanese style.

Good Taiwanese food and refreshing drinks.Their assorted fried platter is pretty nice, it's well seasoned with white pepper and some other spices. I also really enjoyed their shaved ice and bubble tea, really refreshing!

The most authentic Taiwanese restaurant Quebec has ever gotten. The food, the staff, the music, the ambience and the atmosphere brought me straight back to Taiwan! On my first visit, I felt quite emotional being there, so much gratitude towards the owners for bringing Taiwan all the way here for us.Definitely a must try for those who’s never had real authentic Taiwanese food or haven’t visited Taiwan, you can trust Tapas du Taiwan to take you on a little trip!
