Gilbert at Global AV was great to deal with. He is very knowledgeable in electronics repair. When my Denon receiver could not be repaired, he fought hard with Denon to get me a replacement under warranty. I am happy with his service and highly recommend him.

Gilbert is great, I have a number of high end vintage 2 channel stereos. A couple 50 years old, and some approaching 50 years. Gilbert brought them back to life, with extraordinary care. One unit had a power switch that has not been made in decades. Gilbert modified a new switch to fit, a perfect match. Another unit had a volume control and balance on the same pot. The balance did not work rendering the pre-amp useless. The pot hasn't been made for 45+ years, no modern replacement. Gilbert fixed it. Works great sounds fantastic.

Great owner does what is promise and deliver a prompt service for my amp. Nad needs to recognize they should be the authorized dealer to repair.

Customer service is excellent. Kindness and communication goes a long way. I brought my Amp to AUDIO VIDEO ELECTRONICS in burnaby PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE !!! they're crooks, frauded me for my deposit and told me my Amp would cost $1600 to repair but when I brought my Amp to GLOBAL, he said nothing needed replacing and only needed to refresh the hard drive which only cost us $150. We need more honest people like this sweet couple. Thank you again

I had two Focal speaker amps blown out due to a power surge and upon recommendation, I took it to Global AV for repairs. Gilbert was very patient in explaining the damage (I didn't know the amps had blown out at first) and was very patient in answering all my questions.He repaired the left speaker (the amp wasn't as badly damaged) while contacting the manufacturer about a replacement amp for the right speaker.When it turned out both amps needed the entire back plate replaced (due to Focal updating their product and parts and the speakers needed to be matched) Gilbert returned the money I already spent fixing the left speaker amp and prioritized the repairs / replacements since he knew the importance they played in my line of work.Highly recommended and I would give them more than 5 stars if I could!

Bought my cary amp there to fix one of a broken channel. Called back within the same day and told me exactly whats wrong and the cost of repair. Advise caps outdated and since he taken it apart might as well change it. Only had to pay for parts. I also had an amp waiting for parts for awhile due to covid. I was offer to take my amp no estimated charge. Good tech. Recommended.

Gilbert fixed one of my Focal monitors and didn’t stop until it was perfect. On his first attempt the problem persisted but I brought it back to him and he went above and beyond, contacting the manufacturer and getting their diagrams. From there he pinpointed the problem and ordered the necessary part from Europe with no extra service charges I just paid for the parts. He has a gift for fixing electronics and problem solving and I highly suggest you come here for any of your electronically related repair needs. Thanks Gilbert!

I am compelled to write a positive review about this service center even though I ended up not sending my AV receiver here. My AV receiver was in another shop and I was getting frustrated by the delays so started to look at options to move it to this shop after reading the positive reviews. I called up Gilbert and told him my problem with the other shop. He was very professional and did not end up talking bad about the competition (I did not mention the name of the shop to him). He explained to me the probable reasons why the repair on my AV receiver was delayed after hearing my story. Essentially, he talked about shop inside knowledge to me and made me understand the situation better. I asked how much he would charge me to do the work on my AV receiver and his rate came out quite competitive! I chose the other shop due to its proximity from my home. Next time I need something fixed, it is going to Gilbert's shop! Thank you, Gilbert for entertaining me! More power to you and your business!
