Once Upon a Mat

We love our Once Upon A Mat Box products and resources. Covid has kept us home but we haven't been bored we often look to OUAM to give us ideas, introduce us to new books and products (so beautiful). We love our Be Buddy, OMYA Spot yoga mat and hand made products from around the world that we wouldn't have discovered without following on Instagram. Keep up the good work!

As soon as I heard that the first children's/family yoga studio was opening in Oakvile, I was so excited! My 4 year old and I have been doing yoga together since birth. But as soon as we walked into the studio and met the owner and visionary, Incia, our expectations were blown away. The studio is such a beautifully curated space. It makes us happy to walk into it! And Incia has the most beautiful presence and her ability to relate to children of all ages is so evident. We enjoyed our experience so much that we will be regulars, despite that it involves a significant drive for us. If it didn't, we would be there every morning for early morning yoga! And her special themed classes!?? Cannot wait! Thank you, Once Upon a Mat!

I have been bringing my 18 month old daughter (and sometimes 4 year old son) to Once Upon a Mat since April. We have done the yoga playgroup session a few times and we are now attending the Happy Minds Preschool. We love it so much and I can’t say enough about the wonderful atmosphere Incia has created for babies and children. It is a great place to be able to chat with other moms/caregivers, while also providing such an enriching experience for kids. Incia’s programs are so different from anything my kids have participated in. I highly recommend Once Upon a Mat to anyone with young kids!

I was so excited when this studio opened up in my neighbourhood last year. The space is beautiful and walking distance from my house. I have a toddler and a baby and we've tried the Toddler Playgroup, Music Therapy & Yoga and as well as a few others. I signed up my toddler son for Happy Minds Preschool once a week so he gets more comfortable around people that aren't family since he doesn't go to daycare. Incia, the owner, is wonderful to speak with and she gets kids" as she's very patient and encourages them to explore and discover. We need more places like this in Halton. I highly recommend visiting this place even if you aren't into yoga."

As a lover of yoga, I was so excited when Once Upon A Mat opened up as it provided my family with a beautiful space to connect and play while teaching the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to children. Incia has created an atmosphere where all are welcome and children are encouraged to truly be themselves. My four year old loves attending Kids Yoga classes, and has taken part in previous PA Day and Summer Camps. My one year old also attends the Happy Minds Preschool and Kids Playgroups, and absolutely loves both. She gains the interaction she thrives for with other toddlers, and thoroughly enjoys all the sensory yoga activities, songs and books that are part of all the programs. We truly do love everything this sweet studio has to offer!

Once Upon a Mat goes above and beyond in every way. Not only does Incia incorporate an age appropriate experience that is educational and fun, she does everything with love. The minute we walked in the door of her beautiful studio my daughter and I felt at home and as if we’d been part of Once Upon a Mat forever! We can’t wait to return.

Calming and fun atmosphere.

I did my first yoga session which my 3 year old today and we both loved it! Great space, great atmosphere, great teacher. What an amazing way to do something fun on a weekend morning. Thank you! We will be back soon.
