I participated in the “Pandemic! Kitchener and the 1918 Spanish Flu” walking tour. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and am now overflowing with new information that I want to share with all of my friends! I will definitely be signing up for another Stroll walking tour later this summer, as they all seem so fascinating. Special shout-out to Todd, our tour’s facilitator who was so engaging and easy to follow!

We did Stroll's DTK Mural Walking Tour for a company social activity and it was great! We found Juanita to be very knowledgeable and friendly. We went at a nice pace and the length of the tour was just right. Everyone who attended the tour had positive feedback and learned something new. Thanks Stroll!

We just experienced the Black Presense in Berlin walking tour and learned immensely the mostly forgotten black history of our Region. Peggy provided many resourceful stories and was a great host and leader.

Juanita is a very knowledgable and gracious guide. We loved the art mural tour in downtown Kitchener and learned so much. What a great way to get out together as a work team and get to know more about our community!

A fabulous way to learn about my neighbourhood, my community, and my city. The 'pandemic walking tour' connected me to areas that I used to pass every day without thought. The tour has enriched my daily experience to reflect on the history connected to the families, buildings, and businesses of the past that have shaped our future. Thank you!

Fascinating, informative, beautifully organized, and eloquently delivered discussion of local history. Peggy Plet's Black Presence in Berlin" was excellent in all ways."

Our history does not change but our perspective does. Hearing the Black historical perspective of our area from a Black person's provided an entirely new perspective for me. Well done.

Was such a great tour. Learned more about the early Black presence in the area that I had no knowledge of. Made me want to learn even more and see more representation of the early family names like we have of the German and Mennonites. When the last stop was mentioned, I was shocked as I didn't believe an hour had already passed. Very well paced and easy to do, even in the cold of February!

We attended a Stroll tour of the Mount Hope Cemetery with Wayne last weekend and it was a fantastic time! We learned so much about the history of the town and even the country as part of the tour and know so many things to look out for the next time we’re strolling on our own they. Wayne was incredibly prepared, engaging and funny. I appreciated how he contextualized the stories and really brought them to life. Our little guy is 7 and we weren’t sure how long we would have before we lost his interest, but he enthralled the whole time. This was our first stroll, presented as part of Extend A Family Waterloo Region’s Walk or Wheel event, but we’ve already picked out a few we would be interested in checking out later. Thanks so much for an awesome activity!

I've lived in Waterloo Region for 30 years, so hearing the history of many of the people who started the industries that shaped Berlin/Kitchener and seeing the threads that tied them together was fascinating. That's, Wayne, for an evening that still has me thinking.
