Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park
A wonderful forest for hiking and trekking! Sunnyside Acres City Forest Park is one of the earliest specialised urban forest parks in Canada. It covers 140 hectares and has natural secondary forests. It was developed after the area was cut down in the early 1900s. The network of natural trails around Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest is about four kilometres long. Birds, coyotes and black-tailed deer still live in Sunnyside Acres urban forests.~~~ Selected from Surrey City Website

Large forest with many trails that have signs. Parking in several places. Good for dog walking, running or strolling.

Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park
Very nice park to walk through that is accessible to most with many well maintained flat trails. But no matter how well behaved your dog is and how well trained, there are a number of blind corners and you cannot see what may be approaching you from the opposite direction. If it happens to be a not so well trained off-leash dog your unleashed dog will be aware it is approaching long before you will. So please, for the sake of your dog and the safety of the humans, keep your dog on its leash. I have witnessed a number of unpleasant encounters there when the owners forget that.

Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park
Beautiful park to walk through. Has main paths and interconnecting ones. Main path around is labeled with numbers (1-13 I think) so you know where you are in the loop. The main loop (called chickadee loop) is labeled as well at intersections. The loop maybe takes 20-30 minutes for an average walker, not sure, my dog walks so slow so I'm lucky if I make it home by dinner. Really cute in the fall with all the maple trees that shed their leaves over the pathways. Dog friendly. Often people have their dogs off leash, though it's not an off leash park.

Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park
Beautiful forest walkways with simple paths on one side of 24th Ave, and some beginner/intermediate bike trails on the other. In the summer time these trails are brilliant, but be wary in the winter/rainy months as the gravel paths can become a bit washed out or be blocked by trees and branches at times.

Honestly, I enjoyed my walk here. Very peaceful & quiet. There are benches around the forest so you could sit and take a break if you wanted too. Also a dog- and bike-friendly place.

Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park
What a lovely place for a family hike! Absolutely serene trail and yet inside the city. My 2 year old had a great time exploring the trails, trees, bugs, birds and a small stream. There are multiple trails inside the park to choose from. The trails are mostly under tree shades and hence ideal for summer hikes. There is parking available at the entrance. We spent a good 3 hours today.

Beautiful trails through mature forest. Great for bicycles. Some trails are flat and easy to walk.

Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park
Was a relatively easy small area, walking trail. Mostly flat will small inclines. Beautiful moss covered trees and foliage, highlight was the deer who crossed our path!!!

Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest Park
Really great place for a walk and some fresh air. Good parking, lots of trees, easy to navigate paths (trails show up on Google maps so you don't get lost). Can still hear the road noise for quite a bit as you head towards the centre of the park but once you are far enough from the roads you will find peace and quiet.
