Was driving by and saw this place and was compelled to stop. Ordered haddock and chips. 2 pcs of fish with each order. Cash only. Taxes included.

Skipper's Fish and Chips
Drove pass for gas, saw this little place. Cute, big menu and big scoop of iced cream. Freshly made and hot, chips are no crispy style, but classic style. Friendly staff.

It was okay....we ordered shrimp and chips a burger hotdog and deep fried mushrooms. Shrimp was very good and a generous portion. Fries were a bit thick and undercooked. Buns on burger and dog were nice and fresh. Deep fried mushrooms had way too much batter on them. No where to sit here had to eat in our car

Skipper's Fish and Chips
Been told about this place multiple of times and how good their fish and chips are. Always made fresh/super crispy and generous with the portions then good dipping sauce. Honestly not disappointed at all. If driving by and looking for a really good place for fish and chips definitely the place. In the top 3 places I’ve had fish and chips.

Stopped by and had the poutine. Generous portion, lots of cheese curds and gravy and reasonable price. A meal all by itself. Friendly staff.

Stopped by on the way back to Toronto. Got the halibut fish and chips. Made on the spot when we ordered and was great. Fish wasn’t over cooked and was still flakey. Fries were very crispy. There’s a few picnic tables around the side if you wanna get out of your car for a stretch. Would definitely go back!

This is a regular pit stop for travelers along the 48. But the food is just okay. Depending on the day the oil might not be hot enough and the fish or chips can be soggy/greasy.That said, it’s a chip shack. This is common and you know what to expect.However, the customer service, or lack of, is the reason for the poor review. We placed three orders for three car loads of people sharing food. We’d asked for some small containers to add ketchup to from the self serve ketchup pump. And we were given a single container. When we explained that we would like more than one, so that each cars order might enjoy ketchup with their order, the woman in the truck refused, with a snarky comment about “these containers cost money.”She’s not wrong, but was arguing about a $0.07 container worth it.We would have gladly paid, but her attitude had become one where she’d rather we leave upset than cave in and let us have some ketchup in a container for easy dipping in the car.Such a shame. Long line. Cash only. Hot parking lot. Poor service.Won’t be back again.

If you’re thinking about stopping for a bite to eat here u will regret it deeply. Staff is rude it’s over priced and I think they’re serving perch from lake simcoe, not haddock. Fish was undercooked and only realized it half way through eating it. Grease pours out every bite and they were very generous with the napkins by giving us 2 for 2 people. Chicken fingers was our other purchase which tasted like they were frozen on the inside still. Fries is extremely hard to screw up but skippers found a way. They tasted like the undercooked haddock and were so hard and dry salt wouldn’t even stick to them. I recommend McDonalds or A&W over this place which are both close enough to fly by skippers without wasting your money here.
