My spouse had to deal with PGT.and wanted people to know. The public need to be aware that this not a nice place for families, if you have a loved one, take precautions get legal advice to keep them away it will be cheaper in the long run, as they have no feelings towards the families of the people they take care if????. They will take from your family. They say its neccessary to sell houses to cover $250 monthly medical costs, not exploring other options.. just money in the bank.. with as l am to understand from a lawyer ..with no oversite..I will suggest you do your homework. They have deep pockets.See a lawyer before the PGT become involved, it will save you heartache, pain and money..

Just started with them with my brother's estate. Pretty sketchy and not honest. Seems like a money crab of incompetence. The poor reviews seem accurate. We got out early enough thanks to google reviews. This company is in it for the money.

Unfortunately, to write this I should put a start there is NO star at all. Unfortunately, PGT is nothing but problem creator and loved to point on different direction at the time when they were absolutely wrong and allowed fraud to happened within 6 years time. Unfortunately, their client was living out of my charity for 6 years time. Unfortunately dealing with legal system, like a court is absolutely devastating. Unfortunately, PGT does not want to be blamed for mismanagement and do not see anything wrong in what happened to me. I am overwhelmed to write everywhere, and to everybody to get the information what exactly happened within 6 years time. I can't understand how is that possible - one case manager is saying to me that PGT is not involved as stolen money belong to me, not to their client, and another manager informed me that I can't get any information about it as all the information is private and confidential. So, they do acknowledge that they are liable and this is why? Why those people engaged me in actions which should not happened in the first place? By the way, I was suggested by a Judge to sue them. Sorry, I am not ready for this adventure as already involved in Civil court. I wish literally EVERYBODY from this miracle office to be in my situation. They show disrespect, their power, from time to time they are ignoring you or and this is even better then anything else, pretend that they do not understand what really happened. There are so many ways that they can make your life absolutely miserable for no reason, just because they do not want to follow up with what they were taking oath for.

This has been very difficult to get anything done with my finances. I have had 12 different accountants now, (Case manager) as they seem to be getting switched often. I had enough money to buy a house but was refused and told to rent suites at hotels until I could find a place to reside at. That’s wasting over $1000.00 per month to never claim an asset of up to over $100,000.00... I have asked for a statement of accounting or some form of proof of income statement and balance in my account and keep getting told “I will get back to you on the amount” or they change topic and subject completely. It’s hard to say whether or not my investments have full potential. It’s illegal for my money not to be properly managed due to the finance subject and resolution policy’s of the Canadian government. Not to mention the fees that I’m paying just to store money somewhere on the out skirts of a bank. I am worried I am not getting enough profit back and will run out of money somehow. I would like to proceed to sue for improper management of my accounts, and the amount I had to lose while renting for 5 years... luckily I get government benefits that covered my whole entire spending since my amount was told to me at the beginning of 2015, end of 2014 when I had turned 18. For some reason, they seem to think I’ve spent a lot more than I had spent. I have asked for a total approx. 8 times now with no response. It is tardy, negligent and dishonest that they are not showing me my financial situation information. I am having doubts that the money is going up, and not just draining from my account. I totaled my whole balance after the said spent money (On a car I bought that was stolen...) that spendature was covered by the amount the account went up because of the DB and the ___ amount ($) dollar amount, that it goes up each month. I am unsure whether to sue because of capability or to sue for negligence of breach of my assets. It’s hard to understand why I am not allowed to know my own bank account balance. Seems a bit illegal to with hold that information.I am also wondering why it takes 2 weeks+ just for a phone call back from my case manager. What if there was an accident and I had needed to make a purchase that day? It has also taken them over 10 weeks to find out how long it will take to get rent to my landlord... in which I had to just come up with money on my own. The risk I took lead me to permanently endangering myself and gave me a permanent injury/minor emotional disability. This has been a long rough couple years because without talking freely to your clients about ways to create more income they are losing money. Manulife bank offers $650,000+ for saving $300.00 per month for 40 years. That beats the PGT completely so I hope my lawyer stressed that they are not doing something like this for me, already. I am hoping for my accountant to get back to me sooner. And that I get an updated balance monthly, there should be account information online so it is monitored by the person with the account as well. And not money stolen or hidden in secrecy. My dad would have wanted me to control my own life and assets. But my social worker forced me to sign a form of i capability without telling me what that meant for my bank accounts possessions. That was illegal of her, completely. Now I’m stuck with lawyer fees and the feeling of guilt from sueing a company that is just trying to help me... I hope they build a better conductory style and have more financial information to their clients. That being said I do thank them for covering my financial obligations for me. But without being able to create an asset with such an amount of money is highly illegal. I will call and speak to the manager tomorrow about my financiers. And what I’m wanting to do as the big goal for my income and money. I hope they deal better with me afterwards. They have saved me from spending too much money... but not taken me into consideration for my own wants with my own money. Anyways....

I am not sure what they actually do, but helping people protect their aging loved ones is not something they can help with. Narae was our representative and it would take her days or weeks to respond to emails. And at the end of the day they determined that my brother in-law stealing from his mother is perfectly acceptable. So do yourself a favor and do not waste your time with this organization, try and find a lawyer, even if you cannot afford one, cause this route will get you more heartache then solution.

Had an interview with them and i can see why the reviews here are so low... It was one of the strangest, unhealthiest, unbalanced interviews in my life and i have worked in several Government agencies in different provinces including the Feds, City and Province and this is definitely a place to stay away from... And it shows in the reviews also from the customers. Beware all! Stay safe in 2022 :)

It was not my choice to send my Mother's estate to the Public Guardian and Trustee of British Columbia, and I wish it had not gone, as it would have meant more money for me, as the main beneficiary. That being said, PG&T did a thorough and professional job, and I can not believe how much work, time and effort they invest, for as little as they charge! When you consider the amount of hours put in, among many people, PG&T is quite cost effective. I found my contact person to be professional, knowledgeable, accessible, sensitive, reasonable and diplomatic. I dealt primarily through email, and found I received a reply within 48 hours, not including weekends or holidays. Phone calls did not get as quick of a response, but I prefer email, as you have a written record. This was all during a pandemic when people were working at home, so I consider that a fast response. Due to said pandemic, it took longer than usual to process actual forms, for which they apologized profusely, but you can not fault them for the extra time due to a worldwide Pandemic. I found the experience easy, hassle free, and I knew things were being done correctly! As such it reduced my stress during a horrible time, so I guess I am actually glad it was sent to PG&T. I would have no qualms recommending the Public Guardian and Trustee of British Columbia.

This agency does not care about the welfare of the public. In fact it is a corporation, not a public entity and as such not beholden to the public in any form. It's no wonder it's been able to accrue over 1 BILLION $$$ in assets (Annual Report, 2020-21) without much contestation. In my experience, there is no such thing as a fair 'investigation'. Once the agency has set their sites on your family's assets they lock in and make it theirs. The representative with whom I have had the misfortune to deal with, Monica G, has proven to be blatantly biased, misleading and manipulate beyond what is ethical and nearly evil. There is no reasoning with this group since their only objective is to accumulate as much of the wealth from private citizens as possible.

Do not let these people anywhere near your loved ones. They take thousands from the vulnerable without providing any services to help them. They love getting ahold of clients with good incomes and homes because they will take thousands from them. They say they only take 4% but really take a lot more. My mom's income was 7000 and they averaged 1100 a month in fees 4% is 280 so do the math. On top any service they provide they charge extra. They are the biggest scammers out there the workers make excuses that they are handling 300 clients. How can you take care of your clients properly if you are monitoring 300 people? These people are only here to make money off the vulnerable and when they die go for the rest. People do yourself a favor and don't get involved with public guardian trustees unless you hate the person you think needs help once you give them info they will pounce to see how much they can steal. Biggest criminals out there. The vulnerable deserve protection but not by these scammers.
