A growing community with individuals who have a love for Jesus. KBC has always been a place that focuses on family, no matter who you are or where you are in your walk with Jesus you always have a family to turn to here at Kennebecasis Baptist Church.

I started going to this church to support one of my friends going through a hard time in her marriage. She was so excited to show me how much more accepting her church was in comparison to others.Coming from a not so religious family , it was very uncomfortable to do this but I made sure to put my best foot forward as I always felt as though god and religion itself is something that I would love to know more about. As the weeks went by it became evident as to why I have never been interested in a congregation , and why I believe people my age , being mid twenties and younger, are not interested in spirituality, or at least , a church educating them on it.The music and performances we’re spectacular , and some of the people there we’re beyond friendly , but unfortunately a few bad apple ruins the bunch. When the pastor would preform his services he would constantly state how accepting Jesus and god was and how when leaving church every Sunday, that people would notice the difference and enlightenment that Jesus bestowed upon you. However, When I left I would always feel questionable about the topics of conversation discussed and would always find myself attempting to defend the odd perspectives that would come across from his conversations. At the same time he would sneak in the odd comment that didn’t sit well with me , putting emphasis on certain types of relationships such as how a man is to love a women , but would make no mention of the opposite . Baptism to me was supposed to be different from Catholicism , but after sitting through a few services , you just realized that the discrimination and bigotry was just packaged differently .Referring back to my friend who was going through a rough relationship , she made the important decision to leave her abusive relationship and to seek happiness for once in her life .The one thing in her life that she could count on was the support and love she felt when going to the church and worshipping Jesus. She enlightened many hearts with her worship singing and was an excellent role model for all of the younger girls that attended, this includes the fact that she left her husband , as I don’t care what your beliefs are , if you as a woman are getting treated the way she was , you should be able to be brave enough to leave and not feel as though you will be judged for saving yourself. The pastor decided to make her personal life his business and asked her to not sing at the church anymore . This was all done in a private conversation, one of which was very uncomfortable and not professional what so ever . I won’t get into specifics , but he really dove into her personal life ... and him being her pastor she felt obligated to disclose information to him that wasn’t any of his concern.Ever since this conversation transpired , people started treating her differently at church , and acted as if her presence was more of a burden. This breaks my heart. The people that she put her heart and soul into helping for years , turned their back on her because she made the right decision to finally be happy in life and to not get treated like a slave. Isn’t that the reason why Jesus died for our sins ? So that we may lead happy , healthy lives , full of loving relationships ?I can truthfully and confidently say that this church lost one of their best attendees , someone who put in so much extra curricular effort to support its values , and who connected and connects with the lord in a way that makes people actually interested and entices them to want to learn more. This church also single handedly turned me off of religion and worship for my foreseeable future . This is the exact reason why I never went there in the first place . It all feels so segregated and judgemental , when what I was anticipating Baptist church to be , was accepting and supportive.Do yourself a favour and keep church shopping , as this one is set in it ways , however if you’re the type of person that enjoys old values and hates accepting all walks of life , by all means , this is the church for you.

My husband, daughter and I have been attending KBC for the past 6 year. The youth group program on Tuesday evening is so much fun for the kids. My daughter loves it here and always looks forward to attending. There are so many programs for all ages to be involved in, there is something for everyone! The people are warm and friendly and I've gained a lot of new friendships there.

Very judgemental and controlling. I got criticized for wearing a peace sign necklace. “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7.

KBC is my home church. I’ve been to many other ones over the years, and I see most of them as part of my “church family,” but nothing has ever come close to the love and support I’ve received from KBC. No church is perfect, we are only human, but there’s nowhere else I’d rather call my home church. It’s such a blessing to be a member here.

I really appreciate this place. KBC strives to make a positive difference in our community, create an environment where people can meet with God, and build authentic relationships with people. I and my young family have felt welcomed to engage in worship and spiritual growth at this church.
