Salvage Bay Motel/House Keeping Units

What a horrible place especially the restaurant Gertie's Place. The person in charge was responsible for a mess, cleaned it up after about 20 mins. She didn't put up a sign and slipped on it. If that was a customer she could have been sued. Instead of replacing a messed up cheesburger, she tried cleaning it up with a clothe instead of offering a replacement. Said it was a sin to throw it out. Disgusting.

We go there every year sometimes twice a year,we bring the kids and grandkids for a little holiday,they look forward to it every year,there is so much for all ages. The staff is awesome.the restaurant is awesome the food is delicious,especially the fish and chips the best I ever had, also the burgers were great,looking forward to going back again next week.gertie and her staff are the best,make you feel so welcome and will go out of their way for you......I highly recommend this place

Everythimg in eastport closes at 6pm. Tourists, including myself were being redirected to gerties place. Clean, friendly, prompt service with great food at affordable prices. I will be back. I reccomend the pan fried cod.

Very good meal

Not the greatest that's for sure. The playground is very unsafe for kids. My fiance and 1 year old was on the tire swing and it just fell off because whoever installed the swings didn't weld them at the top. The merry go round is rusty and it's just completely unsafe. The rooms are very out of date and tiny. Not enough room to turn around in. No good for more than 2 people. We were at the bar at night and there were KIDS in there, going to the bar for change and running around,one kid even played the vlt machine. I dunno how easily they realize they could be sued

Very out dated and misleading advertising. It said cabins and its housekeeping units. At a 160 dollars a night it should be that a week. I will not be back and can't wait for check out. The only good thing about it will be saying goodbye. Also no wifi.

Stayed here for 3 days. The cabin we had was two bedroom. It was very outdated, the beds were terribly uncomfortable (we slept very poorly), the temperature control did not work and the towels and sheets very, very well worn. The cabin was very small, the kitchenette extremely difficult to maneuver in and the bathroom was dingy and the toilet didn't flush easily. The laundry facilities were disgusting, dirty and small. I took one look and decided to handwash my clothes or just rewear. There was no cleaning offered, in fact, if you didn't clean the cabin before you left, you'd be charged extra. The food offered at the restaurant was edible but nothing to write home about. The ammenties were ok...there was a tiny portable BBQ and picnic table outside each cabin. There was a barely usable playground with no lighting, a ratty volleyball net area and a swimming pool. The swimming pool was the only redeeming ammenity. It was large and kept clean and secure. However the slide was lopsided, wobbly and unsecured. It was so very outdated and poor quality that for $150 per night, I felt it was a proper rip off.

I don't know how anyone could give this wonderful place a bad review. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Gertie's. The facilities are spacious and Gertie and the team were thoughtful and made the trip excellent. We will be back!

We didn't stay here. We dropped in to purchase the handmade Christmas decorations. The lady working was friendly and all the amenities one would need are located on site. There is a pool, lounge, sports activities and snacks. Appeared to be a great spot to stay for families on vacation in the area.

It was a bit dated but was clean and affordable, staff where extremely friendly and even payed for the kids slushys and you could even use there propane fireplaces for a small charge, Over all it was a good place
