A little known gem in Petawawa - The CFB Museum is surprisingly easily accessible to non military personnel. It was my first time at the museum and to be honest - if I had know how detailed an experience this place would have been - I would have budgeted more time to spend at the museum.I've attached only a smattering of photos as not to spoil the experience for others.

Really loved the experience, I wasn't expecting much because it seemed small from the outside but I was shocked to see great displays, history and awesome art.Not only that but outside there's some real interesting military vehicles models you can take pictures with.Heres some pictures taken with a Google Pixel 6, enjoy

Closed the day we visited but the outside vehicle displays and placards provide some interesting insight into equipment history of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Very impressed that the museum is not only displaying victories, but the seedy underbelly and not-so-great moments of Canadian Military history. The interpreters don't shy away from some of our worst moments on the international stage, which is important to get a well-rounded view of our past. The museum is bilingual, with all displays in English and French. The interpreters are highly knowledgeable and friendly. The array of vehicles at the museum is also impressive. (You can climb on the outside ones!)

My grandson had his picture taken with a soldier named Li. He didn't want to leave. We were there for 2 hours. He was delighted.

It's a smaller museum, both in size and budget but there is so much stuff in there. I've been to alot of war museums and there are displays and dioramas at this museum that I've never seen anything like. If you have any interest or connection to the CAF it's a great way to spend an afternoon. With your family or solo
