Oakville Outdoors is the most reliable old school traditional surplus store I've found in the GTA. They have a wide selection of legal military and police gear that you can't find anywhere else. What really sets them apart is their flexibility in pricing - I've always been able to find a great deal on the items I need. Additionally, they have a fantastic policy of buying old military/police clothing, accessories and antiques that you want to get rid of or want to trade in for. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help. If you're looking for a traditional surplus store that goes above and beyond for their customers, have a full store front with products, this is the place, period.

Historical relics and state of the art gear can be found here. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Parking on site. The next camping trip is but a stone's throw away. Be prepared, notch a good portion of time on your calendar regularly, for a rip out to the local surplus shop!

Came here late last year (2022) it was decent prices were a bit expensive (But that is normal in the Canadian surplus market) i got a RCAF flight suit and some CadPat rank slips

What an interesting store. I came in on a whim while in Oakville, because my partner and I have been discussing changing how we pack for air travel. With all the reports of chaos at airports we're considering going with only carry-on luggage. That got us thinking about backpacks and that had me coming to Oakville Outdoors & Surplus. Turned out to be an excellent choice. They have so many different backpacks to choose from. They also have great staff. The young gentleman working when I visited took the time to help identify the several different models of packs that would fit carry-on sizes. My only regret was that I only looked at backpacks. There is so much more to explore the next time.

They have some interesting surplus items. Boss is very nice and acknowledge gentleman. Their knive/blades stocks are attractive.

Very few and far between do such old school yet true core military surplus venues such as this awesome diamond still do thankfully exist.

Took my kids here to check things out a bit. My son is getting into airsoft so he wanted to find some gear and the more realistic the better it helps his simulation.Stone items are fairly pricey but this is likely due to them being the real deal. I plan to buy a few pair of pants here if I can find the same style I did years ago but I haven't had a chance to return.Definitely worth checking out even if just for curiosity's sake.Staff doesn't bother you, they just let you do your thing, no pressure.
