As a mom and entrepreneur, I deeply value OneSpace. The team, the space, the community, the childminding - they are exactly what I need as a working parent. The space is beautiful, cozy and I feel right at home, the owners feel like your friends when you first meet them, and my toddler son loves the childminding centre! This space is so needed in Vancouver.

OneSpace was the missing puzzle piece in the balancing act of running my own business and being a mom. The first time I came, my 1-year-old ran into the play area and fell in love with Genesis, the childminding professional. Genesis has created such a fun space for her to get to know other kids and has been so patient with her on harder days. For me, I grabbed myself a cup of coffee, set up my computer at one of the desks in the gorgeous workspace and cried some happy tears before jumping into some work. I love the option of coming when it works for our schedule. Having some set aside hours to get things done other than during naps and evenings has allowed me to confidently take on more client work too. The women who run it are so friendly, understanding and supportive. I’m so grateful that a space like this exists and I’ll tell anyone who will listen to me talk about it :)

It can be really hard going to back to work as a new parent. You want to spend all of your time with your new baby and also answer an email without tiny fingers mashing the keyboard. OneSpace is the answer. My son and I have been coming here since he was 8 months old. He does the hard work of playing, learning, and socializing with other kids, while I get a few hours to answer emails, have a cup of tea, and connect with the other parents. The childcare team is amazing here. They care they way grandparents care. I attribute a lot of my sons developmental milestones to OneSpace. The community here is a delight, it's like having coworkers who are all at the same point in their lives (working parents), but you never have to talk about work. They have given me so many great parenting tips and tricks and always make me feel validated in my experience. Once in awhile they even over parenting seminars. You'll want to go to these. They bring in knowledgeable experts to talk about the challenges and triumphs of being a parent and offer insights on how to better navigate a work-life balance. Every community should have a OneSpace.

Update Oct 2022:My child was injured in the childcare space 3 weeks ago — his finger was severely cut in a folding chair which required a visit to the ER at BC Children’s. Following the accident, the lack of response and accountability from the OneSpace team was incredibly astonishing and disappointing. Their team was radio silent for the first 24 hours — I then received an email asking if my child was okay, followed by an incident report that they wanted me to sign.Elizabeth the CEO, approached our first meeting very defensively, rather than with compassion. The team defended the presence of the folding chair, which they cited as “intended specifically for children” — the chair wasn’t actually removed from the childcare space until later the next day after another parent made a complaint. With that being said, some of my suggestions regarding safety policies and communication were seemingly heard and the meeting ended amicably. However, the next week went by with no updates and when I asked for one, I was met with a hostile attitude from Elizabeth. Even though she had agreed to step into a meeting room with me to have a conversation, she refused to have a conversation about the topics I brought up and insisted that I schedule a separate meeting to address my concerns. While this is a fair request, there is certainly a respectful manner to ask politely and her unprofessional conduct was far from it.In our final and last meeting, Elizabeth was downright disrespectful — she called me patronizing several times and deemed my requests and feedback as too demanding. Considering my son had a bandaged hand with a deep gash across his palm and finger, I don’t feel that a safety audit of the space was too much to ask for, but I guess that’s just my overbearing nature. Ultimately she advised that I look into other childcare options. As a first-time mother entrusting a space with my child, I was admittedly naive and didn’t do my own due diligence. OneSpace has an unlicensed childminding space that doesn’t require them to follow any government mandate because of one loophole: parents remain physically on-site. While they claim the space is an ‘impossibly safe bubble’, the fact that I was physically in the same building didn’t prevent my child from getting seriously injured under their care. The first aid response from their team was inadequate (the validity of the first aid certificate they produced was questionable), and the ‘live camera’ of the space is simply a live stream which proves useless in an accident such as this. Please use their childminding service at your own risk.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------May 2022:In the few short weeks that we’ve been going to OneSpace, we’ve been super impressed with the team and their services! The on-site childcare has been such a huge game changer for my work productivity, and all the staff are so positive, kind, and clearly passionate about the community they have created. My little one adores the childcare providers and the regular routine has already made such a positive impact towards his social anxiety (covid baby lol).So happy to have found this space, excited to see them continue to grow!

This place is fantastic. Work wellbeing and childcare all under one roof! I am so happy I found OneSpace. I was made to feel welcomed by Victoria and Elizabeth right from Day 1. My child is in exceptional hands upstairs while I have a cozy space downstairs space to get work done. I am especially picky with who is in my child's life, so choosing this was after an extensive research. Shannon upstairs is like a child whisperer, I can sense her passion for childrens wellness. Watching what my child is doing on the monitoring screen is an added benefit, and so reassuring. The space is open and welcoming, relaxing. You get to chat to other parents while taking a tea break. I feel taken care of, everthing is pristine, from the handlotion to the rolled towels in the washroom, to the plants surrounding you while you work.Clean and organized, clutterfree and a good feel of energy.Thankyou for creating this space, the missing link to my puzzle !

I am so grateful for OneSpace! Not only are the work spaces top notch, but the childcare is exceptional. I felt comfortable leaving my one-year-old in the playroom while I worked downstairs. He had a chance to play and socialize and I had time to focus on my work. A win-win all around! Grateful for this space and community. We look forward to spending more time at OneSpace in the months ahead.

So happy to have found Onespace. Such a big help when we did not have any childcare. It is a co working space with childcare in a beautiful, relaxing and intentional space. I always loved working in a communal space and Onespace allowed me to do that again as a parent. The childcare team is fantastic and my son always enjoyed his time there. They also host events, support local business owners and have v fair prices and packages for their memberships. I started with a trial pass and would recommend this if you wanted to get a feel of the space first! Can't say enough wonderful things about this space and the folks who run it.

OneSpace has been a wonderful landing pad for the varied work I do: therapy, project collaboration, and clinical consulting. The space is beautiful, clean and the cost is flexible for my needs and super affordable. I appreciate how they lift up the businesses there, particularly BIPOC women. There are so many options for meeting and treatment rooms, as well as hot desks galore!
