Budget Car Rental

Possibly the worst service and least accommodating business I have ever been to - don't waste your time going here. I showed up for my pre-booked reservation, the employee was sitting in his car outside for some reason, not doing anything. I didn't even realize it was an employee until he walked in to check on me a few minutes after I had entered.My issue was that I don't have a credit card, but this has not been a problem at other rental companies where they always take my debit. I offered him my debit, I offered him the credit card of a family member who drove me there and I also offered cash but it he wouldn't accept either. If they only accept credit cards that's is their choice, however as other rental companies don't have this condition it should be clearly mentioned when reserving with them. Instead of wasting my time there I drove over to Enterprise on the other side of Trafalgar and they sorted me out without a reservation within 15 minutes. Again, don't waste your time here, Enterprise is a minute away, their staff are awesome and they always accommodate little extras like free upgrades for example.

Great SUV, but it was not cleaned. There was trash left under the seats and in the boot. Especially during Covid, this is unacceptable. The staff obviously never cleaned the car or wiped anything down. Not a good first impression for renting a car here.

This was the only rental place near my old house. So I had no choice but to rent a truck from there lots twice. And both times it was like pulling teeth..I get it, these guys have rules they gotta follow in order to rent out trucks but man it was such a painful experience I disliked it both times. My biggest compliment!! The only exit out of your lot is crazy small!! It was incredibly difficult getting a huge truck out of your lot. We almost hit the wall, honestly was like an inch of space on both sides, luckily with a great deal of Patience we managed to get in and out both times with no scratches.Also the first time I went they couldn't give me the truck I ordered cause the lady who had it before me set it on fire accidently?? And they never called me to rearrange things, they didn't tell me till literally the day I needed to pick up the truck. And there way they resolved it was giving me a truck that was three times the size of the one I ordered. Now....I get it...it was the only truck they had, but if they gave me a bit of a heads up I could have rearranged things? I had no where to park such a huge truck, we had to carry everything down the street just to pack it.

I’ve rented here a few times here at Budget Oakville. Rehan is a very kind gentleman who fulfills all my needs here, a great asset I must say. Very humble and extremely knowledgeable. I’d keep renting here anytime I need a car.

Terrible experience!!!! Will never come back.1. Booked an intermediate car (mentioned on website: Chrysler 200 Sedan or similar) more than a month in advance.When I walked in they wanted to give me a hatched-back golf for the same price because they ran out of sedans.2. They lied and tried to convince me that both cars are the same category!!! Seriously???3. They did have higher-categories but they asked me for an extra $25 A DAY. Enterprise/Routes would have upgraded it for free!Definitely not coming back!!!

This was one of the best experiences I had renting a car. I was helped by Rehan, and he was exceptional!! Very helpful and knowledgeable.

Pretty happy with these guys. Best price I could find. A good choice to book via Costco Travel (didn't even know they did this) but it was a lot less than what I was offered via Enterprise using my work code. Guy upgraded my full-size to a Nissan Rogue. Ended up returning the car earlier than I had booked because my car was fixed sooner than expected and switched me into a daily rate vs the weekly I had booked so I was charged less than I had been quoted. A good experience overall.

I love this Budget location on Cross Street in Oakville. The staff, especially Azhar is very courteous and really looks after you to make sure you choose the right vehicle and we'll informed about your rental.

Worst customer service and lack of fleet. Have used other Budgets but this one is dismal. We ordered an Impala but got a much smaller Sonata. The desk staff says that is considered a full size car. When we called customer service at the 1-800 line they disagreed and said it was standard. They can't even get consensus within their own company. (picture from website shows standard vs. full size ie Impala vs. Sonata). The only other vehicle they had available was for $50 more a day!! They not once offered to call another Budget to see what they could get instead. It was take it or leave it. They could not care less. Guess customers don't matter to these guys. Ruined our vacation plans. I would say run, and at this place you will have to unless you can make do with their limited selection.

Please stay away from Budget car rental they will try all possible way to make you pay extra or force you to cancel the reservation last minute if they see the opportunity to rent the car in better price to a different customer.Here is what happened with me. I booked 7 seater mini van almost two weeks advance for a family trip. On 1st October 2020 when I went there to pickup my car they started making excuses that the promo you applied we can’t go with that I told ok then I please remove the promo whatever is the regular price I will pay as I don’t wanted to cancel my trip. Offered me a high price I agreed on that, then he was saying can offer you unlimited mileage and you need to pay extra for additional kilometre which I can as that may bump the total billing to $1000 plus. I was helpless and had to cancel the booking. I was fortunate in that last moment I called enterprise and their Burlington facility has arranged a 7 seater car which actually saved my trip.It’s being 5 plus years I am renting can in usa and canada but this is the first time I faced this kind of inconvenience. I will NEVER EVER GO BACK TO BUDGET car rental.
