Red Deer Dog Park

Lovely treed park with paved trails. Lots of river access points. It's not recommended to let your dog go in the ponds because of the blue-green algae that grows from July to October.

Very nice trail system here, quite scenic. There is a long loop around the park with views of the ponds and rivers. Lots of trees and even areas where you can have a picnic. Well maintained for the most part and lots of garbage cans. Over winter, owners tend to be lazy about picking up so in spring it's really gross until the city comes through and cleans up after them.Off leash is a bit more sketchy here. It is allowed, but there is minimal fencing and a lot of vehicle traffic in some areas. Dogs can access the parking lot and road unrestricted. The ponds are great to take a dip, but it can be risky. In summer they are prone to blue-green algae. When that isn't blooming, there are also beavers. (In 2010 a beaver attacked and killed a dog and wounded about 6 others.) No attacks lately but use at your own risk. I would only going off leash if your dog has a strong recall.

This dog park is at three mile bend. The current directions lead to private property which is not open to the public. Those that are found trespassing on this property will be prosecuted and charged.

A great place to walk dogs off leash. Beautiful trees and river valley. Only issue is inconsiderate bike riders

My favorite place to bring my dog. Lots of river access, paved paths, and little forest spots. Make sure you check out the memorial spot ..it is beautiful
