Escott Sportfishing

Had a great time with Danny and his crew this past June. It was early in the season so we fished Chinook and Halibut. A couple of examples attached. Danny and the team were friendly and know how to fish. Food was excellent. The smaller size operation let me get to know the other guests and was a real plus. I will definitely be back.

What an amazing experience. I caught the biggest fish of my life. And beat my personal best each day. The food was incredible. And the lodge was cozy enough to feel like a proper fishing cabin and not an impersonal hotel. Captain Danny Escott is an incredibly talented fisherman and a great guy to boot. I'd recommend anyone who wants to join the Tyee Club and become a better fisherman go with the pros at Escott.

Have fished the BC coast for 30 years and Escott Sportfishing is by far the most comfortable atmosphere combined with the best guides on the water ! Love having a beer while watching the eagles after a great day on the water and then sitting down to the gourmet food !!! Can’t wait to get back up there !!! Thanks for the great times !!

I have fished Haida Gwaii with three different charter companies and I enjoyed my time with Escott the most. The time to fishing grounds was the best, the accommodations were excellent and the small group size was ideal for how I like to fish. I came home with plenty of fish and great memories.

13 of us from our S.F. Fishing Club stayed at Escott Lodge last July. The fishing was fantastic - we all limited out on Coho and King Salmon and Halibut. The staff at the lodge and the guides were wonderful. We have booked again for next July.

What a great trip! Danny and crew are true professionals! The lodge is beautiful, the food spectacular and the fishing was off the charts! We came home weighed down with chinook salmon, halibut and ling cod! They do such an excellent job in prepping, sealing and freezing your catch, it was still frozen when I got home and I relive that great trip with each fillet I prepare. Can't wait to go again! Thank you Danny and Crew!

Danny and his crew are just awesome! Nice clean lodge. Mike cooks amazing food for every meal. Gourmet appetizers after the day of fishing is a really nice touch. Danny's guides all really seem to have a passion for what they do. Our guide Matt was really great. He got us into some good Springs for sure! 2019 was our first trip up to Escott. Best lodge we've ever been to!! We're looking forward to our trip again in 2020. Cheers to Danny & his great team! Thanks so much for the amazing fishing experience with my son. update....lodge is no longer available in a package....but thats okay...their are a number of B &B and house rentals and contract guides like Danny available in Massett...but you have to co ordinate flights with accomdation and guide availability,....When Dan chose not to open for accommodation....i sought out a house. and 3 of us rented it and did the barbecue backyard thing....and cut the cost of the trip by $3000 each...yes $3000.....So no lodge experience but local grocery store and pub suited us well....Going back this year for 2nd year in a row! Dan is available for guiding..but so are others So i have been too 20 lodges....some good....some really good....I chose Escott to book in 2021...Because of his reputation, his boats, the location in massett means you do not have to wait for a transfer to one of the lodges in Langara.....Sometimes fog can hold you up for hours and hours waiting...in fact one year....we had to return to Vancouver because helicopter could not leave Massett.....So i viewed over an hour of utube videos and choose Dannys place....Started talking to him a year ago.....I think his followup is amazing...The advantage of a small operation....The owner deals with you.....When you see his video you understand the experience of him and his guides.....all local for years....This going to be a good trip...But do to covid i have to wait until Aug 2021 to go.....Love Dannys passion

I’ve been out in the region every year for 6 years now and with Escott Sportfishing on 4 separate occasions. Every time has been an unreal experience. Once you get the experience of being out with the guys as Escott there’s no better place to be. The atmosphere is unique in the sense that it is personalized and intimate. The lodge is just like going home and the guides become friends overnight. Will be coming back for years to come.

We had another awesome experience at Escott Sportfishing this year. The service, food , the lodge and of course the fishing were absolutely amazing. The entire trip was first class. We will be going back again.
