iPlan program at JVS is great. It's a bridging program for internationally trained architects. It can help finding a job. You should meet the requirements before you can be admitted. I know there have been many cohorts graduated from this program and that shows how successfully it's continuing to work well for newcomers and job seekers.

They only hire from their Jewish communities and support their Jewish clients only. They are so racist and most of their staff do not respond to clients' emails and calls. Shame on your Employment Counsellors for their white lies to clients.

The entire JVS Toronto team is amazing. The IPLAN program - a post professional bridge training for foreign educated architects is truly a transformative springboard.The knowledge given, the training in the subject matters relevant to the profession here, the exposure to best practices, the fantastic professionals who are instructors, all this opens the door to many employment opportunities.Beyond the training and instruction, the time, effort and emotion that each of the councillors invests in ensuring the success of each individual candidate is remarkable and un-paralleled. There are hundreds individuals who are working to their full potential because of their exceptional efforts.

In the beginning JVS promised so much. They were smiley, the counsellor said that she has a lot of connections in my field. For months they advised on cold calling. But they did not connect me to anyone in my field, science. All the workshops were same as one another. The only workshop that I actually benefited was the first workshop I attended. When I said my counsellor that I am losing hope because I do not even get any interviews, she just gave me false hopes and told to be patient. At the end, to be able to pay my rent, I went to a recruiter company; I found a job at an underemployed position. All in all, my time at JVS was the definition of wasted time. I think Government of Ontario should reassess these employment agencies' effectivity and stop funding ineffective ones. JVS is not effective at all.
